I just spent $67.37 at Rattle Fish Restaurant in Wesley Chapel, Florida, and believe you me, it was without a doubt the worst food I have ever had from a restaurant. We had three orders of the fish/shrimp platter with french fries and cole slaw. The tartar sauce was yellowish in color and tasted as if it were ransed. The cole slaw was pure cabbage without any flavor or mayo or mircle whip--they should call it cabbage and not cole slaw. The fish batter had a ransed taste as if the grease used for frying was too old. The french fries tasted like the fish batter. The grilled grouper sandwich was okay--nothing to brag about. We were able to eat the shrimp after pulling the batter off. I request a full refund of my money. Please send $67.37 to John Kelly, 8843 Kenton Rd, Wesley Chapel, FL 33544 or call me at (813) 994-6355.

With family from New York visiting us, we were very excited to bring them to Rattlefish for dinner and drinks. What a mistake! We sat a the bar while waiting to be seated. Each beer we ordered the bartender served so that it was foaming out of the top. A total waste and a total mess. After we were seated, it took the waitress approximately 30 minutes to take our order. We then waited an additional 45 minutes with still no food....And not a word spoken to us. We finally flagged down our waitress, (Oh, and did I mention the restaurant was 1/2 empty at this point??) who then informed us that the kitchen was backed up and it was about a 50 minute queue in the kitchen from the time we placed our order due to kitchen problems earlier in the evening. Think that might have been a good idea to tell us when we ordered?? And then it was still an additional 30 minutes from there to get our food. Absolutely ridiculous. We actually watched other tables get up and leave with no food. I was embarrased, dissapointed, and insulted.

Went there for a farewell dinner and the restaurant was very accomodating of our group, even though we weren't all eating at the same time. Sitting outdoors was great and the crowd was great for a Fri. night. I got the calamari appetizer, which was nicely done with peppers to give it a little more flavor. I got to taste the Rattle Fish shrimp, which was even better. The chicken wings were tastefully done, but not as good as the other two. I had a House Bouillabaisse in the tomato sauce, which was delicious. I have seen more seafood in other places, but for under $20, this was great. Other folks got the grouper sandwich and fish tacos, and that looked delicious. The only bad dish was the salmon, which was tough and like it was frozen and hadn't thawed completely. Everything else was good.

Pros: great hidden location, good food

Cons: slow service

I have been to Rattle Fish a few times and always had a great time. I have relaxed and enjoyed cocktails while viewing incredible sunsets. Lots of tables provided and live entertainment. The creative specialty drinks are yummy(Rattlejuice, Caramel Apple Martini). The dining areas are nice too. I have eaten in the inside dining room and on the outside patio. The atmosphere is great , I like the soft lighting and candles are on the tables too.The house salad has some different and delicious items thrown into it. I have had good seafood and steak there and they offer some different side items (try the macaroni & cheese pie). If you want more than just a plate of food at a boring resturaunt table give this place a try. See you there!

There were 6 in our party for dinner on a Friday night. They were not busy. Service was ok but the food was way below standard for the price. I had a grill chicken salad, the salad was tasteless and the chicken was dry. I ended up eating more bread and had half the small salad left over that I didn't even take it home. Lunch seemed to be better if you just stick to sandwiches. Overall, I would not recommend this place. I heard they are closing in about a year since they sold the property to a developer to build condos.

Pros: Outdoor seating overlooking bay

Cons: Below standard food and service

I have been here twice. The first time the food was nasty service was okay. Second time the food was okay but the waitress was beyond rude. Food is overpriced and service is extremely slow, even when not busy. Order was wrong, items missing and forget asking the server to correct it...she never came back. Not recommended...the view is not that nice.

Pros: ?

Cons: poor service, food, price

I have been here several times. Always inconsistant. Either the food is good and the service is bad or the opposite. Sometimes it is both. I have only once in about 50 plus visits had a real good experience. This is sad as they have a greaty location and view. The drinks even are alot of times horrible and that I would think be hard to mess up.

Dinner arrived a good 45 minutes AFTER ordering (and they were not that busy). Broiled Mahi Mahi was so dry and overcooked that it could barely be cut with a knife and swallowed - not a good sign for a restaurant that serves lots of seafood. Veggies arrived ice cold with the tips warmed with no noticeable seasoning. Potatoes had burnt flavor with no seasoning. Overall food was very bland and a real disappointment, especially for the high prices charged. Waitstaff were nice and the entertainment was good (but breaks after 5-6 songs). A real disappointment in the food arena for an upscale restaurant.

Pros: Nice Location, Water front, Interesting decor

Cons: Bland Food, Overcooked fish, Expensive bad food
