The woman who accused the server of stealing her wallet should be ashamed of herself. You have no proof or grounds to make such a claim, and further have slandered the server. You most likely will have a bigger issue on your hands. For your information, the staff at this restaurant has the highest employee retention in the entire organization. Most of the servers are very tenured. Both the staff and mangement have always been committed to service and quality, and if you are not happy (which clearly you are not) they will correct it. Your behavior towards the staff is not horrible etiquette, and I hope you do not work in a setting where others learn interpersonal skills because you NOT an exemplar to follow.

This is to the woman who said that the staff at stone wood grill are thieves.First of all I have a child who works there and in no way shape or form are these staff members thieves. You misplaced your stupid bag probably having a few of those drinks and did not remember where you put it.How dare you with your paraniod self not to mention rude comments. Why dont you give your real name like you did with them .The food and waiters and busboys ,cook, host ,manager, and anyone else who works there deserve your apology. This is my first time writing a review and i hope it helps. By the way my favorite dish has got to be the porkchops.

Pros: great lighting

The review - parts I and II below are unfortunate and unnecessary. This lady is not only making her own paranoid assumptions fact, she is naming innocent people in a pulic forum and not only insinuating, but directly accusing management, and named waitress of criminal behavior. This is a no class act on her part, and a complete lack of respect for hard working people. In addition to her schizophrenic rants, she decides to go ahead and assume the criminal behavior of the whole of Stonewood's staff. Having been to Stonewood many times, I can say with confidence - as will the hundreds that frequent there every week - that the food is great, the atmosphere is up-scale and high class, yet casual enough to make anyone feel at home. The staff - wait staff, and management are among the best around. There are mostly students staffed as servers. Perhaps the lady below would like to indict the local university student bodies as well? A forgetful mind is no reason to attempt to defame innocent people. City search needs to remove her reviews, so that true restaurant and venue reviews can be made. Take hers off, and then mine. Thanks, and give Stonewood a try next time you're in New Tampa.

I decided to go back to confront the waitress tonight. (Sunday 04/08/2007) I called the restaurant before I went. They told me that waitress Marina was not there all day. So I asked to speak to manager John, but they put me on hold for five minutes and told me that he was on the phone. I became suspicious and drove over. When I arrived, manager John was on the front desk with the hostess. Guess what? HE HANDED ME MY PURSE!!! Everything was inside the purse. He claimed that my purse showed up in the drawer sometime today, but he does not know exactly when. He said that he does not know who turned it in. The hostness also said that today was the first time she saw my purse there. He would not comment on anything else, though. My guess is that the waitress Marina decided to keep my purse after she saw the cash. Somehow for whatever reason, maybe because of my persistence, she turned in my purse to their drawer of "lost and found" today. I am so mad at the kind of employees Stonewood hires. I am still upset with the hassles and stress they created for me. I am so disappointed at how unprofessional the manager was. Why didn't he call me back to inform me of my purse found, though he promised to do so on Friday? Why does he have to wait until I show up to give me my lost purse? What if I wouldn’t stop by to check again? I told him that I will never return there again since his employees are not honest and steal guests’ belongings. I want to share with each of you my experience there. At least I can stop sweating over losing my green card. I put it at a safe place as soon as I got home. Now I have to wait for all the new credit cards to come next week!

Cons: Bad waitress, unprofessional restaurant manager

I went to Stonewood Tavern & Grill with a few colleagues on 04/05/2007. This is one of most upscale and most popular restaurants in New Tampa. We spent $150 on the meal, and I left a tip of $30. (Though food and service was not that great) I forgot to put my purse in my bag after I paid the bill. Instead, I left it on the dinning table. The most important item was my green card and my SSN on one of the insurance cards. The reason anyone who works there will keep my purse would be the $120 cash inside. We left there around 9:30 p.m. in the evening, but I did not realize that I lost my purse until Friday morning. I went by Stonewood three times on Friday 04/06/2007 to look for my lost purse. Morning -- assistant manager Jason said that he couldn't find it anywhere in the restaurant. He called and left messages for restaurant manager and waitress. Jason called me later and told me that he spoke with the manager, who had nothing turned in to him the night before! Afternoon -- I met restaurant manager John. He said that he spoke to the waitress on the phone, but she did not see it. He also told me that we were the last guests for waitress Marina on Thursday and that section where we sat was closed after we left. Evening -- I stopped by to see the waitress who was supposed to be working that night, but manager sent her home. Manager John told me that he asked her again and got the same answer, and said that the next time she works would be Sunday night. Friday evening, I cancelled all my credit cards and set up alarm for identity fraud with the three credit bureaus. I spent the whole weekend panicing, upset and worried over my identity been stolen.

Cons: Bad waitress, unprofessional restaurant manager

Nice restaurant but wait staff is a big problem here. We had to wait 40 minutes just to get our check, finally having to ask the maitre d' for it.

I visited Stonewood on a whim, having never heard of the restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised by the elegant but casual decor and incredibly professional service. My waiter Jimmy took the time to explain the menu and wine lists to me, as well as offer his recommendations regarding both food and wine. I had the Filet Mignon, and would rank it among the best in the country. The wine list was outstanding, with several higher-end wines featured on the Reserve wine list. If you are looking for a superb restaurant experience in the Tampa area, look no further than Stonewood. **One more thing that Id like to add is that the restaurant may come across as expensive at a glance, but I came to the conclusion that you get what you pay for. Several of my associates entrees looked delicious, and were not pricey at all. Great Job!

Pros: Excellent wine list, Faboulous steaks, Elegant, yet casual
