On five occasions I've brought my family of 4 to Cheddars in Brandon, Fl. I've found the service to be very poor with wrong drinks delivered to the table, cold food, and just plain bad/rude service. Drinks not filled in a timely manner on more than just one occasion. The last time I was there drinks were not refilled and left empty longer than I've ever experienced at any resturant. Our glasses remained empty throughout our two entrees. When the drinks were refilled a large lemon seed was found in my daughters root-beer. Our dinner was taken to another table by mistake - then returned to the kitchen. Cleaverly hot fries were replaced with cold ones but the main course was not replaced - it arrived late and cold - My daughter asked for honey mustared when she ordered the chicken pieces when the food came out she saw it had 2 ranch dressings. She asked the server who brought out the meal to please bring her honey mustard then she asked the waitress to bring out honey mustard - needless to say it took the manager to bring out the honey mustard. When we brought the poor service, cold food, drinks with foreign objects in it to the managers attention she overly graciously stated that she would credit the nuggets. I asked what about the drink with the large seed in it and she reluctantly agreed to give credit. When I recieved the bill nothing was credited. I pointed this out and after a while I got the new receipt with the credits I told the manager it was an overall very bad dining experience and she cleverly said well I'm going to put an end to your bad dining experience and left with my debit card. When she returned I said I'm not paying for this meal you can call the police and insisted she return my debit card. When I got home and checked my bank account on-line I found that she had also without my knowledge charged a 15% gratuity to my bill.

decent food at a great price

My favorite dish is the country fried steak, it's so big it can't fit on the plate, My wifes favorite is the chicken caesar salad. Located in chain restaurant row , it has to be the best deal in Brandon.

Decent food, strangely cheap prices, weeknight eating out location

>The good: The food is consistently decent, not awesome but nothing really wrong with it either. The portions are typically really large and we usually take leftovers home. The drink menu is varied and their happy hour is pretty cheap. The service is decent, they seem to hire a lot of kids for their waitstaff and hostess jobs. There is lots of parking and they have a unique fan in the main dining room.

>The bad: While the food is good, it's nothing spectacular. This seems to be a restaurant that attempts to make up for the banality of their food with larger portions. In terms of value, this is great, but culinarians shouldn't expect to be blown away at Cheddar's. They seem to have confused there their freezer is as the dining area is always freezing cold. Their 'signature' chicken fingers are bland.

We have visited several times, including duing the saturday night rush and have never waited for a table. If informed of an hour wait (!), we'd politely decline and go to one of the other 400 restaurants in the area. Cheddar's is good and its value is excellent, but there's really no reason to wait an hour for a table.

Great Place, Great Value, love the atmospere

When you consider the uniqueness of the meals and the large portions they give you and the overall quality of the food, the price is excellent. My wife and I always share a meal and always come away full.

• Pros: Great food in a fun atmospere at a great price
• Cons: Long lines esecially on Friday and Saturdays Evenings. Expect to wait an hour, but worth it.
