UNHEALTHY AND GROSS
by lovedunedin at Citysearch
Who allows smoking indoors? We will NEVER go back here, the vendors smoke, my hair and clothes REEKED of cigarettes. It's 2009 people! Smoking is disgusting so we will boycott this place as all our friends are. Yes, it's a flea market, but there are children there, children whose lungs don't deserve your vile habits..and adults who find your habits disgusting....stay away if you want quality, this place is not it.
- Pros: NONE
- Cons: SMOKING INDOORS? WTH?
Don't buy the purses there !
by bargaingal3 at Citysearch
I bought a purse from the vendor at the first entrance B-C and the first day I used it, the handle broke and the inside change pocket tore. When I tried to exchange it - they said that I didn't buy it from them...I pointed out the exact same purse hanging from their hook, then they accused me of tearing it on purpose and trying to scam them...outrageous!!!
Huge Flea Market
by Aimathena at Citysearch
There are way too many smokers, P-U!
The place stinks so bad of cigarettes, they allow smoking "inside" where the vendors are. Don't go if you have a sensitivity to smoke and/or do not want your children, clothing, hair, etc. to stink of smoke. With that said... Get out your most comfortable walking shoes, your going to need them. This is a huge flea market, you'll never make it through in one day! Believe me, I've tried it! I spent about 8 hours trying, on a motorized scooter and still didn't get to see everything. You can find good and bad deals, old and new items as well as courteous and rude people. It is always buyer beware at these types of places. I would suggest bring batteries etc. to try before you buy. You do have to pay for parking, but they give you a voucher for a free hot dog and drink. I like the lady that paints the custom plaques, she does beautiful work. I also like the lady with the summer dresses, she always has good deals and you can get small to EX Large. I'm not so sure about the perfume dealers with their watered down version of designer perfumes/colognes and the Italian clothing guy inside with the inflated prices does not like to negotiate and he doesn't offer a good variety of sizes. And buyer beware about the T-shirt guy... he puts birds and other items on the T-shirts to hide imperfections, such as holes, stains, bad stiching, etc. You know what opinions are like, everyone has their own... you should try it for yourself.
- Pros: Good deals
- Cons: Too Many Cancer Clouds, Crowded,
Best Flea market in the state
by helpyouout at Citysearch
Great place to visit. Found almost everything we go there looking for. We go about 3-4 times a year. One thing is you do have to remember it's a flea market not a mall. If you look at most of the reveiws you will see most people are very happy and know what a true Flea market is. the ones that aren't happy if you read their reveiw you will see cause they didn't really check things out and make sure things work or are in good shape it is no ones fault but theirs. You have to take responsibility for what your doing and buying. Yes there are people who will take advantage of you but only cause you LET them. Been to almost every Flea market in the state and this one by far is the BEST
- Pros: Vendors will always deal with you
- Cons: can only be cons if you let there be.
Wagon Wheel - Best Flea Market In Town!
by edraacworth at Citysearch
Sounds like you should spend your time at the malls. A flea market (note the name -flea market- not Mall) is a place where you would go to find some wonderful used items and some really good new ones. I have met both friendly people and not so friendly people while shopping there. But again....it is a flea market. You are not shopping at an upscale mall. This is a wonderful place to go. Most of the vendors will bargin with you, which is half the fun. The Wagon Wheel gets 5+ stars from me and its the first place we head to when we arrive from out of state. We have been coming to the Wagon Wheel for around 30 years. Keep up the good work WW & vendors. See ya in June when we come down on vacation!!!!
- Pros: Best Deals in town!
- Cons: Just hot!
Vendor not Honest
by Binky12 at Citysearch
I have visited the Wagon Wheel many times since 1975 and am unhappy to say I ran into a dishonest Vendor.
My sister and I went to The Wagon Wheel Flea Market yesterday 4/25/09 and saw a man selling headsets you can wear to control the volume on your electronics without bothering others. I asked How much- He said $40.
I bought the headset with a Credit Card. I brought the set home and it did not work.
My husband went back today 4/26/09. My husband said- I thought you said it was $40. I said it was. He said -Well the slip says $52.
I called my Sister. I asked- How much did the man say the headset was? She said- It was $40.
When my husband handed the man the phone- He said I misunderstood him. I said Oh My sister misunderstood you too??? He tried to change the subject.
I will dispute this with my Credit Card Company- So Buyer Beware
- Pros: Bargains
- Cons: Vendors should have to display prices
Great Palce for Bargains!!
by Glenhollow at Citysearch
People who claim this is a filthy place must live in a bubble. It's a FLEA MARKET! GO ELSEWHERE!
Flea markets, to me anway, should have that "frumpy" look. Any of those "clean looking" flea markets sell
mostly new stuff from third world countries. Give me the good old fashioned dirt floor markets anyday! You'll find
great buys here every week. I know this as fact, I do every week!
- Pros: Just about anything your looking for here!
- Cons: Noe, if you realize it's a flea market, not an uppity mall!
Gross!
by Melba at Citysearch
This place is essentially a garbage dump. Flies buzzing all around the fruit and vegetable stands, old junk that should either be thrown away or sold for 99 cents! Filthy people, filthy place. A total eyesore on Park Blvd that is a white trash magnet! Yuck! I can't believe anyone actually patronizes this worthless place.
- Pros: Nothing
- Cons: Everything
