Best Health Food Store in St. Pete. Rollin' Oats is one of the best health food stores ever. I've shopped there for years, eaten in the cafe and have always found the food great, the service just wonderful and all the store's employees helpful and friendly. I highly recommend the cafe, which has just expanded with the new enlarged store, and their takeout prepared food is equally delicious and reasonable. It's one of the few places that really offers a well-prepared vegetarian cuisine, though they do serve fish and chicken as well. "Beans Around the World" is a daily favorite, consisting of a different bean each day served wih brown rice and vegetable....I always take a doggie bag home. Their new gourmet cheese case rivals some of the best I've seen , and I find their prices less expensive than most other health food stores, and way cheaper than the new natural foods sections of the large chain groceries.

Avoid if you ever require customer sevice...... I've been in this market quite a few times before and have been going out of my way to shop there. But, today, I would have loved to have had a video of the laughably poor customer service I received after

I'd left a couple of bags of groceries on the counter yesterday. It would have served as a *wonderful* bad example of how we turn off customers.

I went in to the customer service area perfectly willing to accept responsibility for the mistake and saying that I hoped I wasn't the only person that had happened to.

I'm going to leave this review with an observation that no further trips out of the way are justified.

...and, it would have been so easy to laugh along...produce the groceries and turn this innocent event into

a cost free promotion of a business.

But, this is one customer who departed with a terrible taste in his mouth.

Simple, wholesome dishes served in a relaxed, bright setting draw a nice mix of businesspeople, families and seniors.. The Scene
Eating healthy doesn't have to mean starvation, deprivation or dry and tasteless. With bright art hung on the walls, hanging greenery, and a clean, well-lit setting, Rollin' Oats Cafe makes eating well a real pleasure.

The Food
Homemade, fresh and natural with an emphasis on vegetarian dishes, but meat is also served. The hot specials of the day are listed on a blackboard, and you're probably going to enjoy any one of them. The salads are fresh, crisp and interesting; the soups rich in vitamins and flavor. Try the penne pasta with three cheeses that was excellent. A plain piece of fish, simply pan-fried, is delicious. Desserts are tasty and made with low-fat ingredients.
