good barbque. Haven't been here in some time and thought we'd try again and say hi the owners who are really nice people! The hushpuppies here are soooo good, the fish dip is rich a delicious and hubby loves the meat. Carolina barbque so be prepared when you go, but ti's freshly made and just delicious. Avoid the whole hog roast night if you're squeemish like me. The Butler's like to laugh at me for my meat avoidance especially going into a barbque place but they have SO many other delicious choices we keep going back for more!

Butler's BarBecue. My friend and I visited Butlers BBQ several years ago, and never stopped going back. The food is priced reasonably, and tastes amazing!! I love the bbq sauces, and the meat is done to perfection. The veggies are cooked SOUTHERN style so if your are looking fo crisp steamed crunchy stuff, this is not the place for you. Southerners cook veggies all day long. The Hush Puppies are do die for, I used to go there just for those. If you are going for atmosphere, this is not the place for you. Go to Sonny's if you want atmosphere. If you want real good food and friendly service, go to Butlers. You can get Cheerwine there as well. Yum. I now live out in Portland, but when I visit St. Pete, I always try and make it to Butlers. Good stuff!! I hope Butlers sticks around.

Dirty dining. Not sure what they could do to make it more disappointing. The food is terrible, i think it was microwaved. The cook who looks like he is 15 is standing in the back mean mugging you while you order. The place smells like the carpet is wet. The tables are greasy. There is so much grease in the air you leave feeling sticky. I would never eat there again. I went there with four people and we all had stomach aches later in the evening. The one positive thing that I can think of is the BBQ sauce was good. My 1 star rating is too kind.

Great home cookin. I haven't yet tried anything that I didn't like. Family owned and very friendly. It's definitely worth a try!

NC BBQ Native. I love it down here but miss the dozens of bbq restaurants in NC - the best one being in the state legislature cafeteria. I've had Butler's in and take out. It is different for some reason. It is some of the best if you get it in a bucket for a dozen or so people for a picnic, but the few times I've been there it is greasy and has skin in the meat. Maybe it is a coincidence, but I like it lean. It's cheap, but I'd pay twice the price for what I'm used to.

They have got the NC style down, and if you don't mind grease - have lunch.

Terrible! Food mushy, overcooked. Service appalling, mgmt rude!. Terrible! The sides were mushy, overcooked, definitely appeared to be old food reheated several times. Service appalling, when we complained the management was down right rude! We asked for our money back they refused since we didn't eat but a few bites we finally negotiated 1/2 money back. Worst experience!

Best barbeque in town. I have visited Butlers numerous times and have never been disappointed. The owners and staff give it the family feel. My favorite sandwich was the bbq pork. I will have to say that they have an exceptional Chicken Salad sandwich. The sides are all homemade and very tasteful. Definitely worth trying. I can't think of a better barbeque place.

Editorial Review. Casual restaurant offers a bevy of traditional barbecue items, including steaks, pork tenderloin and ribs.

Real NC style BBQ--not a sauce covered impersonation. I heard the commericals on the radio and was curious to see if this was the real deal or not...I grew up in NC and a good Bar B Q sandwich was always a common thing living there, but it always had the flavor smoked in and always had the vinegar taste as well...Most Florida Restaruants that "claim to have NC styled BBQ" usually have it coverd with sauce to give it flavor...Well not at Butlers....This place was very impressive...not the fancy type of place with all the bells and whistles but the shine is in the Kitchen....The BBQ was awesome and the small town atmosphere, complete with North Carolina decor made me feel like I was right back in small town NC....The portions were very large and the sandwich covered the whole plate with meat spilling well off the bun...If you are homesick for Carolina BBQ, look no further--its right here!!
