I don't usually do these review things, but my experience was beyond awesome and I want to spread the word about this salon!! My siblings started going to CarMichael's long ago, and I started just recently. I had a young lady who went by the name of JoJo, she was the sweetest thing to me! She saw I was a bit nervous and made me feel comfortable instantly. It had been so long since I had my hair done, I was not sure what and where to start. She recommended a "dimensional" look, with 3 different beautiful colors in my hair. I went for it and it came out the best I had ever seen my hair! She made me feel relaxed and we laughed for a good amount of time. She has a great personality and I am gonna make sure to not wait too long to get my roots done (as she said :-)) The environment was fun and energetic. We were all talking amongst ourselves, it was not like the typical salon now and days. I loved my experience there. When I showed my siblings my hair, they just looked at me and smiled. They were proud I finally went to where they were going to for all these years! I am looking forward to coming back soon! Thank you so much!

to consumer investigator afer your insinuations were brought to our attention, I went on line and read them.I was appalled to even think that any of our current staff members would stoop so low as to slander any other salon. I agree with you, Tampa has many great salons and talented hair stylist. NO BUSINESS DESERVES TO UNJUSTLY BE SSLANDER OR HAVE FAKE REVIEWS POSTED, AND HURT THEIR REPUTATION. Unfortunately we have had a staff change.since then we do not know who has been posting these reviews about our salon. Carnichaels hair company has been in business for over 11 years and we pride ourselves in our mission . customer satisfaction,customer relations and putting the needs of our clients before our own. Because the majority of our clientele comes from word of mouth we know our clients are happy with our services , and salon, we are sorry about the reviews being posted . TO cunsumer investigator sorry, but we do not take the time to slander any salon we find this action imature and unprofessional , We use our time for more constructive activities . We concentrate on better customer service and keeping up with the ever changing world of fashion. WHO EVER IS WRITTING THESE REVIEWS GROW UP.

CONSUMER WARNING: This citysearch member "tcwsman" has posted in the last 2 days 5 reviews about several competitor salons giviing them all bad reviews and only giving CarMichaels a good review. This is highly suspcious behavior and because the reviews are posted on the same days causes me great concern about who is wriing these reviews which are fraudulent and slanderous !! My investigative team is watching this member for sometime and we are contacting citysearch about this as well as an attorney and if we learn that any salon has engaged in this slanderous liable activity we will be taking it to court. The salons in the tampa bay area are hard working, honest good people and for another competitor to knowingly slander another just to gain customers is not only a reflection on their integrity or lack thereof, but also on their customer service attitude and a refelection on their business practices. Therefore if you go to a citysearch and see a review posted by "tcwsman " then click on the name and you will see for yourself how this person is writing bad reviews on companies they have not even visited nor received services. And you can do this for any member who has posted a comment to review their comment history. Interesting enough you may want to click all members review histories and see if they too are spamming cityseach with bad reviews just to hurt the competitor and boast the competitor they wish to get the business for. As far as CarMichaels Salon goes, if this is not someone on the inside of their company doing this I suggest you also contact citysearch before you are investigated for laying a roll in this slanderous behavior.

I have been a loyal customer of Carmichael's for 8 Years. I'm not usually the type that writes reviews of things good or bad.. just leave that to other people.. but I figured why not? Why not take the opportunity to talk about my favorite place? I've been going to Carmichaels for a long time and have probably seen every stylist in there and have always been pleased. I get compliments all the time.. "Wow.. Who does your hair?" CarMichael's!... " I love your highlights. Who does them?"... CarMichael's!... "Is that your natural hair color?".... Yes! (No) :) Trust me... after you have been there just one time you will be hearing all the same things. Even men stop me to ask me about my hair or compliment me on it..... But other than that.... It's a great place with nice people who are more interested in making you look great than taking your money. They always call me to remind me of my appointments and know me by first name and who I have an appointment with as soon as I walk in the door... Its things like that that makes going to CarMichaels a retreat from my normal stress filled week. I can just relax and let them do all the work....

This was my first time at Carmichael's... I immediately loved the atomsphere.. It felt like a dance club... The people were really nice and fun. It was laidback and stress free . My stylist was on time and listened to what I wanted done and made suggestions as to what colors would be best to achieve the look I want. It looks and feels great... I get compliments everywhere I go. That is a first for me... especially from complete strangers. I will be a client for life...

I had never gone to Carmichael's before, so I visited this website for a recommendation. There were mixed reviews, yet I didn't go with my gut and just not go. I made an appointment to get highlights and a cut. I asked the receptionist to recommend someone good because I didn't know the colorists/stylists there. When I went, my stylist was very young and seemed like she knew what she was going to do. She talked me into having just my roots done instead of foils as I intended and had always done for the past 15 years. After she finished the color, I sat under the dryer for 30 minutes and the top of my head was in pain from the heat. She did not come and check on me once. Back at the station, after the shampoo, I saw that the dark blonde I wanted was a bright orangy blonde. Orange. So she went for a toner which turned my hair dark honey. Big difference between my hair color and roots. She knew it was not right and started out by saying, "you know, if you are not happy just come back we'll do a color correction for free". Of course it's free if you mess it up!! I asked her what she thinks went wrong and this is when she became defensive, exasperated- and frankly, unprofessional. When my hair was dry, my suspicions were confirmed. There was an obvious darker strip. I asked her flat out, "do you see this?" and she kept answering me with " well, it is what YOU see" as if she was trained to spout this out this dribble! After asking her 3 times if she saw a difference in my hair color she said she did. Disappointing. Then, as I paid, in full (and the extra bowl of wrong color), the receptionist made a comment on my 10% tip: "Only $8? I mean, $8?". So would I recommend Carmichael's? I didn't have the other stylists, so I can't speak for them. They looked experienced and mature. I would recommend the owners to hire more experienced, professional stylists. So beware, you never know what you are going to get.

I have read some of these reviews on here and it sad that people use this as a bashing site. Every salon has it's pros and cons, and bashing other stylist is just sad. I've been to many salons and for me it works how I am treated and what the stylist does for me, I come for the stylist and not for anyone else. It happend that Eduard did my hair and it turned out good. I also had my hair done by one of the stylists that left and I was very pleased as well. It just was my choice to stay with one of the stylists that left, it had nothing to do with the salon. Different people make different career moves and it works out for them for the better, we all know that stylists love to change and explore different options, and I guess it happend to work out for the best for everyone. I hope that everyone who reads this can learn and move on. I wish everyone the best and do get your hair done by a professional.

Carmichael's Hair Company is very professionally run and always striving to keep up to date on the current trends in style and color. I've been a patron of theirs for awhile and I have never had a bad experience. My family members also have visited Carmichael's seeing several different stylists and have all had amazing results. Carlos and Michael are not just excellent business owners, but they are very caring people. One evening before they closed they had a call from me needing some help. My teenage daughter had a very bad color job by a girlfriend and they saved my daughter's hair and pride. She could go to school the next day without the drab, flat brown that was applied to her once golden blond hair. The condition of her hair was a major factor. The skill and knowledge that Michael and Carlos have prooved to me that this is the place for me. Thank you! PS. Everyone who sees my hair has complimented me on my "New" hair color and style. They say that since I switched salons I'm living in the present and not the 80's! No more brassy-blond-Jennifer Anniston-Friends-do-for-me! By the way, Edward has been terrific for bringing me to 2008! Best Salon in TAMPA!!!! Great Atmosphere!!!

I have been using Edward at Carmichaels now for the last 4 years. I had damaged hair that kept breaking and would not grow for anything. Edward always chooses colors that will last me about 3-4 months and shows very little growth, the same with the highlights. My hair is now growing and is healthy because of him. I would highly recommend this salon and Edward to all of my friends and family.

Pros: Service and Honesty, they really build a relationship with clients

I have been a client at CarMichael's for over 7 years. IT IS THE BEST SALON IN THE TAMPA BAY AREA HANDSDOWN! The owners are great, as well as the current stylists on board. I always love my hair and feel great when I leave there. I get compliments on my hair and color all the time. I am however, disappointed that in utilizing this cityserach directory and referring all my friends and family here, that it is turning into what seems to be disgruntled previous employees or their close friend's blog! I suggest these people, grow up, live with your career choices, work on building your new businesses and if you have nothing nice to say, DON'T SAY ANYTHING AT ALL!!!! PS-Teabager- Nice comment about Edouard-He happens to be my stylist and makes me look great!!!!!
