I had to bring one of my cats in with an emergency. Unfortunately my cat had to be euthanized. It was very difficult and Dr. Wadworth and staff were very compassionate. The estimate of charges was given ahead of time with an explanation of charges at my request. Dr. Wadsworth then worked with me to cut some of the charges down and start with one test at a time before making a decision of the more costly tests. The tests done to confirm Leukemia and the euthanization was affordable compared to my experience with other vets in my area. I have since brought in my other two cats for check-ups and to be checked for the illness, they were clear, and vaccine against the illness and found the experience equally as comforting and affordable. The staff on both occassions was courteous and knowledgeable. Although the circumstances were unfavorable with our initial sick cat, I am glad to have discovered Carrollwood cats and will consider them our family vet from here on out. I'm not sure the standards of some of the people who posted complaints but know through my own experiences with vets that there are some horrible ones out there that treat you and your pet like dirt, charge you an arm and a leg for sub-par treatment and then expect you to thank them for the bad treatment. This is not one of those places.
Pros: Caring staff and affordable services

As a multi-cat mom, I highly recommend Stacey Wadsworth as a vet. Not only is she knowledgeable (attending seminars to keep up with the latest treatments and breakthroughs in cat care), but is well-known throughout the Tampa area by animal advocates whom she has helped with their strays, etc. Stacey's personality is stoic at times and at other times friendly and warm. This does not bother me in the least because I know my cats are getting the best care available in the area. I suspect and am hoping that she and her husband, Dr. James Ray DVM at Livingston Animal Hospital, may confer about their patients after hours. After all, two heads are better than one. Dr. Kelly Williams, DVM is also in practice at Carrollwood Cats. She is personalble and knowledgeable, a recent graduate of University of Florida. I highly recommend her also.
Pros: knowledgeable vets, thorough
Cons: pricey

Dr. Wadsworth seems to lack an empathy chip. She dispatched the vet care with competance but is intolerant of proactive pet owners and prefers to call the shots. My cat was very ill and Dr. Wadsworth refused to treat some of my cat's problems because she was just going to die anyway! When I requested that they try to help her with those problems she became petulant and began giving me the silent treatment when I went in to visit my hospitalized cat. I will never go back again - strangely I had not had any problems until I had a sick cat. When just giving vaccinations and basic routine vet care there were no problems. But any vet can handle those things....the important thing is how they handle the pet and owner in a crisis.
Pros: location, parking
Cons: snooty staff temperamental and cold vet

I've been a client for over 15 years of De. Stacie and have observed nothing but very professional care and concern for each and everyone of my 4 cats...The staff is very friendly and professional, they will make you and your pet feel right at home. Do not understand why some people find just the opposite.
Pros: Professional employees
Cons: don't really have any

Not recommended. I was there recently one Friday morning and the entire staff was exrtemely rude and childish. Leaving my pet there made me really uncomfortable knowing that nearly all the techs are practically kids who look like their still in highschool. Two "techs" came in the room to discuss some things with me and when I had questions it was like they had no idea what I was talking about nor did it sound like they had any idea what THEY were talking about. Non of it made sense and it was really unsettling knowing that this was supposedly a place of care. When I asked to speak to the Dr.Wadsworth, she acted as if i was wasting her time. When I was ready to check out, they then dispenced the wrong medication to me and didnt even seem bothered by their error. Unfortunaetly I have heard good things about the other Doctor never bring my cat back to this place.

well gloriaaa-they probably didn't want to let you adopt a cat because you are illiterate. Get over it.
Pros: plenty of parking-friendly staff-professional care

They are the rudest and most unprofessional group of people i have even been around. If you want to adopt a cat from there, dont bother because they will adopt it out to someone else without even telling you...and then wont care. And if you call them and tell them you are coming to pick up YOUR cat...theyll tell you that they adopted it out BUT dont worry! "Cats will come and go, just adopt a different one". I dont understand how people could actully take there pet to an institution like that and not be worried about it because they are insane.
Pros: Location
Cons: EVERYTHING ELSE.

I found the Vet and staff rude and arrogant, it appeared to me that all the care was motivated by money. ie Labs pushed and ordered but not used for clinical judgement. My cat was sick and basic clinical and laboratory data was ignored, medication was given aggressively with resulting seizures and loss of my cat. In my opinion if this Vet would only treat her patients as well as her diploma, she would better serve her patients and their owners.
Pros: location
Cons: everything else

Dr. Wadsworth was very sweet to both my pet and I. She had very helpful staff to restrain both my cats who are only bad at the doctors office, showing off I bet. I would like to thank Dr. Wadsworth and staff for helping me make this a good day.

I was very disappointed with Dr. Wadsworth. If you are looking for a friendly and "soft" vet, then I would look some where other than Carrollwood Cats.
