I took my fiance in for his birthday this evening, he's a big football fan. I was surprised to see everything has changed. Everything is lighter and brighter and seems a lot bigger. The wood floors look great. I was also really surprised to see they've changed their menu (thank god). I had the petit filet and he had the porterhouse. Everything was still gigantic and well worth the pricey receipt put down at the end of the dinner ($200 for two people to have two four course meals including dessert, several drinks and tip). He had a really great time and I was surprised to see he liked the new decor as well. Our servers Jim and Shawn were fantastic and I would ask for them again and recommend them to any of my friends and family. Two things you have to try: the crab cake appetizer and the lobster mashed potatoes. The lava cake was the perfect ending. They really did a great job and I will continue to tell people all about it!

Pros: Great new menu items, fast friendly service

Cons: A little pricey but worth every penny.

I dined at Shula's this past Tuesday and everything far exceeded my expectations. I have eaten at Charlies, Ruths Chris, Capital Grill, Berns, and The Palm - but none compared! The Filet with Lobster was pricey but well worth it. Also, Shula's is doing half price bottles of wine on Tuesdays, which I was unaware of until my server pointed it out. I bought a bottle of Caymus for $80! It's time to give Shula's a try if you have never been there before.

Pros: 1/2 Price bottles of wine on Tuesdays

Cons: Pricey

Filet was very tender and flavorful. We had 6 servers and never had better service. They cater to your individual needs - we didn't see a dessert we liked on the menu, so they made one to our likings. Be prepared to spend good money, meal for 2 was apprx. $200 included appetizer, meal and dessert, no wine. But it is well worth every penny! If you enjoy fine dining - definitely come here.

This restaurant is expensive, but well worth the visit. Food is the best I've tasted since moving to Tampa 7 years ago. You are treated with that extra special care. My husband and I go to Shula's for very special occasions (anniversaries) to give ourselves a wonderful evening out. You will get the service you expect in an establishment of this quality. I recommend Shula's very, very highly.

Pros: Excellent food, Excellent service

Wow should the word to describe this restaurant. The filet Mignon is absolutely superb. If I can reccomend one entre this would be it. This place is worth every dollar that you spend and more. They have a much better steak than Charlies or Flemmings and the service was superb.

Pros: Free Valet, NO waiting

3 of us visited Shula's on a Sunday night. 2 of our steaks were mediocre at best. The baked patatos were over doneand cold. This was after a rotten one was brought to the table first. What a let down after all the praises I'd heard about the place. A fast food hamburger would have been better than the $250 dinner presented.

Pros: decor, servirce, meat presentation

Cons: , food , food

Probably the best steak and lobster dinner we have ever had at an upscale steakhouse. Both steak and lobster were cooked to perfection. The waiter was outstanding as well. We had a perfect meal and a perfect evening. Thank you Shula's!!!

We had a party of twelve and used a private dining room on December 21, 2003. The service was fine, but the food was unsatisfactory. One of the party had to send back a steak due to cold temperature and most of the other steaks were tuff and lacked the flavor of quality prime meat. We have had far better meals at Out Back for a fraction of the cost. The side dishes were the only saving grace and most of those were served luke warm. I will not return to Shula's, nor will I recommend it to others.

Cons: overpriced, poor quality, cold food

I recently visited Tampa with my two sons. Being from Alabama, we decided to visit Shula's in support of our new football coach at Bama. The staff was extremely courteous, despite my boys being dressed in shorts. They were very kind about us sharing food. The filets are far superior over our favorite local steakhouse (Ruth's Chris). And, surprise, the fish was excellent! Not many steakhouses know how to prepare fish. We found the bread very good as were the salads and vegetables. What a great choice we made!!!

Pros: valet parking, incredible food, kind staff

Shula's offers great steaks, but falls short in other key areas. The blue point oysters (a rare find on Tampa menus) were great, but the salads and side dishes were disappointing. We would prefer better quality instead of quantity, especially at these prices. The bernaise sauce is terrible, and they burned the souffle. The bread is very good, but at $100 a person, the entire meal should be outstanding, not bits and pieces. Ruth's Chris is more consistent. Room is small and cramped. Service was very slow two times we have been in last year.

Pros: Good steaks, Blue point oysters, masculine/sport atmos

Cons: mediocre salad/sides, VERY expensive, cramped/slow service
