Best pizza in Soho

Are you jonesing for pizza? Call up Sally O' Neal's! You can taste the difference on your palate with the fresh dough to the homemade sauce. I have tried imitators but am never satisfied. I always go back to the best.
Even a plain cheese pizza is head and shoulders above the rest. Try a plain taste test. And you will feel the difference. Then you add in the gourmet veggies and the like. Oh my it is over the top in taste. I prefer the Spinach and Tomato Veggie pizza being a vegetarian. They put in whole slices of fresh tomatoes. Oh my goodness, it is a little piece of heaven! I have been eating their pizzas for years and loving it!
Better than Pizza Hut and Dominos but...

the cheese has a plastic taste. The dough isn't papa john's (which has so much more flavor) but everything else was fresh. however, $17 for a small hawaiian was steep. Can't wait until papa john's starts delivering to Harbour Island. They will make a fortune!!!
- Pros: Fresh ingredients
- Cons: Plastic cheese, high prices
Awesome Pizza - Horrible Service
by ahalsten at Citysearch
The pizza at Sally's is fantastic. The crust is tasty, there are tons of toppings to choose from and everything is super fresh! That is why I am so sad to say that the service makes this place better for take-out. I don't think the servers have much experience... Do they know they make tips?? Serving pizza at a busy restaurant helped me put myself through college so I understand completely the respondsibilities of their job and I am more than willing to hook servers up with a more than decent tip. If you can't get refills and handle some friendly chatter, I don't owe you more than 10%. As an added bonus, the kitchen was blasting 90's hip-hop music ("Me So Horney" !!??) and we could hear the kitchen staff singing along! Besides the fact that this was completely inappropriate, it just didn't lend to the atmosphere Sally's is attempting to offer. It's a cute store that serves great pizza - now all they need is a professional staff instead of what seemed to be the overflow from a McDonalds.
- Pros: Pizza
- Cons: Service
Very fresh ingredients

It's hard for a New Yorker to rate a pizza joint that doesn't sell by the slice. But Sally O'Neals offers a tasty culture shock once you get passed the size issue. Pies are topped with all sorts of fresh and unique ingredients, creating individual artistic endeavors. Our favorite is the Spinach White Pie with Feta. They've also expanded their menu to include pasta dishes, calzones (both are not as good as they should be) and great big salads (great, but the only dressing option is oil and vinegar). The outdoor seating is a big plus because the inside tends to fill up fast.
What's all the hype about?

Pizza was flavorless, spinach was not at all fresh, it's frozen and looks horrible on the pizza, chicken looks like it's been previously chewed on by someone. Not at all pleasing nor appetising, not to even mention the service was horrible. Employees are rude and are known to hang up on you. Don't waste your time nor your money.
- Pros: none
- Cons: service, pizza
Top-notch pizza from excellent, homemade ingredients and imaginative toppings.

The Scene
The shop is located in a modest former grocery store, looking out toward South Howard Avenue, which has become a restaurant mecca. It has clean, simple furnishings, bright lamps and homey touches like plants. The business makes its famous pies from scratch with pure, natural ingredients; spring wheat, high-gluten flour, baker's yeast, homemade sauce with whole tomatoes.
The Food
The menu features a variety of imaginative toppings, such as pineapple, red peppers, Asiago cheese, homemade meatballs, artichoke hearts or fresh leaf basil. The shop's signature pizza features a white base, spinach, garlic, mushrooms, onion, Pecorino Romano and pizza cheeses. It sure is a treat to take one of these babies home, flop down in your favorite chair with an iced, sizzling Coke at the ready, and chow down. The pizza pie that made Sally O'Neal famous is a white chicken-and-artichoke number that's out of this world.
Can you say hold please?

I had a bad experience a year ago with Pizza Hotline and since did not order again till I had some family out of town drop in and beg to get it. I succumbed to their needs of course and tried to order. Not only was I put on hold for 20 minutes but they actually hung up on me. When I called back they took my order which was promptly sent to our home in almost 2 hours, thats right two hours. And when we got our pizzas, one pizza was wrong. And to top it off the chicken artichoke pizzas dough was less then cooked. Go to Gourmet Pizza and order some real gourmet pizza.
- Pros: none at all, none at all, none at all
- Cons: poor service, poor delivery, poor pizza
Call Back??????
by chitty at Citysearch
I thought I would give it another try after leaving once for poor poor poor service. The pizza is great, but when the guy says call us back we are changing shifts?????????? Wow! $17 buys a lot of Pizza Hut.......
- Cons: Service, Service, Service
Service needs improvement
by cdub026 at Citysearch
Not bad, just not good. The pizza wasn't bad but they lost my original order and my phone number, so the only way I got my pizza was when I called back. They did give me free soda to make up for it. The pizza really wasn't anything special, either. And it was expensive.
