Updated Info on The Castle

Some of the posted info read on here is a tad bit old so I figured I would update it!

Monday: "Retrogressive" with DJ Rob Pittman upstairs doing a great variety of alternative-80s/90s videos with some retro pop thrown in for good measure. DJ Sean is downstairs spinning a wider mix of darker alternative music.

Thursday: "Pop N Wave" with VJ Mike Roehr upstairs playing videos that sometimes defy classification! UK/France/US/You name it, if it's a cool video it's probably in rotation. Caters more towards the hipper club goer with out any of the pretention of a scene.

Friday: "Coffin Classics" with DJ Sean upstairs playing your old school, dark club favorites and DJ Rich Rank downstairs often blowing your mind with his guest dj's spinning anything you can classify as "cool"

Saturdays: DJ Tom Gold leads the charge with the occasional guest of his, playing the cream of the crop of what's new in goth/industrial/idm/ebm/et al. Stompfest for sure and it's a blast!

Never a dress code, best drink in Ybor City, be sure to come as you are because everyone is welcome at The Castle!

• Pros: Alternative really fits this place!
• Cons: Sometimes crowded and can get a bit warm in the summer!

The best Indutrial/Alternative/pop/wave club

This is 'the' club to go to if you love Pop/wave or goth industrial or go on Monday and relive the good times with their 80's night. The upstairs is where the party is and the downstairs bar is a good chill out and cool off spot. If your in Ybor or going to be soon I highly recommend checking it out.

• Pros: Music, people, three bars
• Cons: Can get very crowded.

Where It's At
Just two blocks off Seventh Avenue, the Castle's gothic architecture is hard to miss. Yet one of the most often-asked questions in Ybor is, "Where's the Castle?"

The Scene
Even though it's not along a well-traveled strip of Ybor, theme nights like Fetish, Gothic and Old Wave mean just about everyone under 35 stops in at one time or another. The elegant downstairs features a long, black granite bar with a "river" of water coursing through it. Upstairs you'll find a full dance floor, lightshow and extra-large projection screen for your clubbing pleasure.

Jukebox Joint
The Castle's renowned jukebox includes everything from Arabic music to Nat King Cole. Get your singles ready and play DJ for the night.

Simply the coolest club in Tampa. Certainly one of the best clubs in the nation. Great atmosphere, music, service, and patrons.

Industrial Nirvana!

The BEST club in Ybor. Wear your latex, leather, ripped up fishnets, tons of eyeliner and go dance to some of the best goth/industrial music you'll ever hear! Ignore the snobby goth clique that hangs out there and go DANCE your ass off!!! Avoid the ONE bitchy bartender upstairs, if you can help it..

• Pros: awesome music, goth/ind. atmosphere
• Cons: slightly expensive, parking in Ybor

Awesome!

The Castle is probably one of the most unique places around. Most everyone is really nice and cool once you start talking with them. I have had such awesome times there with my friends. And I've met some really great peole there. I defintely recomend the Club to anyone who wants something different from the rest of the average places in YBOR.

The Best there ever was!

This club is the only club in Ybor with real people. Everywhere else you get killed with teeny-boppers who are trying to fall out of their clothes. I love this club. Goth, prep, whatever, everyone fits in, and the music is unmatched in Ybor, no matter which night you go. Check it out.

best club, here is why

I've been to the Castle a few times. Even though I'm not goth, I always have a lot of fun. I can't imagine a better place to people watch in the entire Bay than here. In a night there, you'll see from Peter Pan look-a-likes, to Queen of the Dammed look-a-likes, to pro dominatrixes all mingling together. The music is different but why dance when it's so much more fun to watch while you nurse a drink called Exorcist?

Didn't fit in but had a Great Time

If you plan on visting the castle, be ready for a eye full! My experience was one I'll never forget. I had an incredible time, wearing jeans and a white tee-shirt, while surronded by freaks on leashes and women dressed in fairy tale costumes. It was an unbelievable sight straight from a trippy movie. The crowd was a bit intimidating at first, but by the end of the night I was dancing with a man in a leather G-string, wearing a teddy as a pull over. I had a great time.

• Cons: Location, Parking in bad area

where the true freaks come out to play..

the freaks our out in full effect at the castel. the reason why everyone asks "where is the castel?" because of the stories that have circulated. where else can you go and see women dragging men around on their knees on a doggie chain and the men are loving being treated like the dogs they are. there is plush furniture and the best bar i have ever seen...broken glass pieces under a clear coating of laqure. a great place to unwind after work or to get wound up....enjoy my pets

• Pros: good parking location, no potty lines unisex, great sexy air
• Cons: dancing can be scarry, bad lighting to park, closes too early
