Crave this pizza more than NY pizza. Ive been away from the TB area for 5 years and I must say I still crave the taste of Demmis pizza if I'm hungry for pizza. The only pizza somewhat comparable has been in NY. I think it's the sauce that makes it special. It is tangy tomato with a hint of sweetness and herbs. The perfect blend of cheeses on top and the right amount of fresh mushrooms (what I get). Perfect crust - thin, crisp, but chewy on the inside. Everything in just the right proportions. Its not just the pizza. Firstly the pizza is first rate, simple and true and isn't going to set you back like some of the other ybor spots. The atmosphere is light with good beer..if you are lucky enough to run into the owner Gino Iavarone he'll tell you the history of the place which goes back many generations in his family.
