by coopes
Come over to the states to see freinds every year and going to Bens a few times is a must. Having gone through most of the menu have never had need to complain.
great food, freindly service, what more do you want.
- Pros: freindly
Technologically Inept....

Well, I was going to eat there tonight, and possibly still will, however, it is going to take place later than I wanted to. If you try looking up info on the restaurant, you will not find very much on it, accept some excellent reviews, so that is wonderful. I wanted to see the menu however, and I can't find it on the web, so I called to get a copy faxed to me, but they don't even have a fax machine. Frankly, every business (especially a successful one) should have some means to share their product outside of their building. I am pretty disappointed that I couldn't even get a menu faxed. I hope other businesses will take note. I worked in restaurants for 13 years doing everything. I love restaurants, and hopefully may have my own little place one day, but I know for a fact that I will advertise my product in every way I possibly can, so the world will know what I have to offer.
- Pros: I haven't tried anything yet, but it gets marvelous reviews.
- Cons: Have access to share your menu's outside of having to go in the restaurant.
Mom loved this place
by campbell_verrinder
Our Mom just passed away in March 2007 and she loved Ben's. Her favorite was the Southern Fried Chicken. We continue to go there on Sundays for dinner. We (Tom, Red and Margie) feel like we are "Family". The food is always great. Manny Jr. and the staff treat us like family. We occasionally have breakfast there and it is just as good too. We have become friends with some of the other regulars too. They always have room for large parties. The menu has many choices. Something for everyone. From spaghetti to steak. Can't beat the prices.
Try it you will like it.
THANK YOU

I have been working at Ben's for over 16 years and it has always been a great place for service and food.It still is a great place.I am the kitchen manager and cook there and the quality of food is unbelievably great. We as cooks take pride in the food we prepare and the speed in which we prepare it.I work the breakfast shift and i personally make sure all the food is prepared with the upmost quality and preciseness. We have regular customers that come in everyday and expect the food to be the same quality and quantity. Our service is as good if not better since our new owners have taken over. I usually do not express my opinion about much, but I want to make sure our customers know that Ben's always makes sure that they get the best service and food possible at the most reasonable prices.I WANT TO PERSONALLY THANK ALL OF OUR REGULAR CUSTOMERS FOR THEIR LOYALTY AND ALSO OUR NEW CUSTOMERS FOR GIVING US A CHANCE TO SHOW YOU THAT WE HAVE THE BEST FAMILY STYLE RESTARAUNT IN BRANDON AND PROBABLY ALL OF TAMPA AS WELL. WE WILL CONTINUE TO SERVE YOU FOR MANY YEARS TO COME. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!! JORG VAZQUEZ
- Pros: GREAT FAMILY ATMOSPHERE

All the meals are done well, but breakfast particularly shines.

The Scene
If you find yourself in strawberry country in eastern Hillsborough County at breakfast time, you can look forward to an unusually delicious breakfast from this longtime, family-owned restaurant. The decor is country charming, with a tiny garden blooming out front, and a pretty, simple aqua color scheme inside accented by brass lamps and shiny country knickknacks. It attracts a varied crowd, from senior citizens to 2-year-olds.
The Food
The pancakes are soft inside, crispy and steaming outside. The bacon is crispy. The sausage is good quality. They cover the breakfast spectrum from a fancy pecan and bacon waffle to a simple bagel with cream cheese. However, one of the best dishes is potato pancakes and fried apples. Order Tennessee country ham to go with it--it should hold you till lunch.
'the place for breakfast in brandon'

We don't always have time to go out to breakfast but our choice is Ben's. The food is really great, healthier than Cracker Barrell. The prices are right, the service has always been prompt. Parking fills up the in front but there is plenty in the back for a restaurant this size. I tell everyone I know about Ben's.
- Pros: inexpensive
Great local restaurant!
