Take in the gorgeous decor and spectacular view at this lovely Italian hotel restaurant.

The Scene
Located in a sunny wing of the Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel, Il Terrazzo's interior is lovely in an understated way. It's swathed in beige and brown, with big, glamorous drapes artfully hung over sets of double glass doors leading to the patio. It carries the feeling of richness without being ostentatious. Like any good Italian restaurant, its patrons chat and laugh, guzzle wine and dine for hours.

The Food
The best dish is braised, Italian-style pot roast: a moist, rich slab of beef cooked to tenderness and garnished with vegetables. The Caesar salad is excellent, with lots of cheese and hearty flavor; but the crust on a simple pizza can be limp; desserts can taste as if they're past their prime in some cases; and an expensive lobster special is too simple for the price.
