After 32 years of service, and all that has transpired...it is still the same Skyway Jacks! You find the same employees working that waited on you 10 years ago well as a couple new faces! Its good greasy southern home cooking that it always was....just like grandma use to make! If your from the north then try some Philadelphia Scrapple with some home fried potatoes...If your from the south try some scrambled brains with grits and a corn muffin. If your more traditional then maybe you should stick to bacon and eggs or some AWESOME pancakes! No matter what your taste may be, you can find something at Jacks! And dont forget their famous breakfast special Monday thru Friday (excluding all holidays) from 5am till 8am they have $2.29 specials! Get a cup of coffee with that and its $3.63 including tax for a full meal! You can name anywhere else that offers such a deal? This is by far my favorite place and highly recommend stopping by!

  • Pros: excellent food and staff with a sense of humor!

I grew up in St. Pete. I've always loved Jacks. Before fishing or after a late night. Always just as good! I've been to both north & south. Both were great!

My favorite was the scrammbled eggs & brains, potatoes & toast, MMMMMM good.

  • Pros: great staff
  • Cons: ?????

A once proud name, being ruined by bad service. Our waitress had to be tracked down, as she was too busy chatting with her friends to bother waiting on customers. Her response, when finally found was "you just sat down." News to me, we'd been looking for her for some time. She then called me a vulgar name at the kitchen window, loud enough for me to hear. I'm a long time customer who'll NEVER be back. Too bad, as the food is still good.

  • Pros: Food still good
  • Cons: Service Awful!

Lunch at Jack's is very good. The food is wholesome and freshly prepared. Although the restaurant is not fancy, the service was great, and the staff was warm and friendly. Items on the menu such as the potato dishes are homemade. My burger was very tasty as was my husband liver.

The prices are reasonable.

  • Pros: reasonable prices, good food, friendly staff

The Scene
The row of ceramic, knick-knack pigs that stare goofily from behind the cash register is a little kitschy. Yes, the waitresses call you "hon." But that's all part of the charm of one of the Tampa Bay area's premier breakfast restaurants for more than 20 years. Founded by a retired Navy vet in a tiny building near the Sunshine Skyway Bridge, it's built a remarkably diverse following, from construction workers to chic society ladies; from seniors to kids and housewives to professionals.

The Food
American-style practically anything: scrambled pork brains, smoked mackerel filet, eggs, grits, corn muffins and homemade corned-beef hash. Or order perfectly poached eggs topped with corned beef hash or french toast with some fancy sauce.

As a student at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg and a member of the SAR team there, I went here many times to warm up. The food is good, fast and the atmosphere cozy. Dont forget the water access tho!

  • Pros: staff, coffee, access
  • Cons: parking, location

This place is horrible...there isn't much space between tables therefore you feel like you are sitting on top of your neighbor! Also, the food wasn't up to par! The wait staff sucked!!

Think of it as a truck stop w/out the highway/interstate road. Great southern breakfast at a better-than-reasonable price - can't go wrong.

If your ever by the Skyway Bridge, you have to stop by Skyway Jack's and order the ham and eggs. The ham doesn't even fit on the plate, it's so big.
