Superficial PeelsThe mildest type of chemical peel and can be used on all skin types. Superficial peels usually use liquid containing a mild (dilute) acid, most often glycolic acid. Dry ice (solid carbon dioxide) is sometimes used.
Medium PeelsThis type penetrates the skin more deeply than superficial peels and cause a second-degree burn of the skin. Trichloroacetic acid is the main peeling agent used for medium peels, though the peel may also be done in several steps using a different chemical solution followed by tca.
Deep PeelsThis type penetrates several layers of skin and cause a second-degree burn of the skin. They are used only on the face. A chemical called phenol is usually used for a deep peel. Deep peels may not be used on darker skin types because they tend to bleach the skin (hypopigmentation). Even in lighter-skinned people, phenol peels-or any type of deep resurfacing-may bleach the skin. A deep peel can be done only once in most cases.
Laser Tattoo Removals
ProceduresThe tattoo laser procedure may take anywhere between 10 minutes to one hour depending on the tattoo. Continuous high-powered laser pulses lasting for less than one millionth of a second are aimed at the tattoo. Not all tattoo colors respond the same to lasers, multiple lasers may be needed. In order to allow time for your skin to heal and your body to absorb and dissolve the ink, this procedure will most likely need to be completed in multiple sessions over several months. Individual time frames vary, scheduling a consultation will better determine the amount of time the procedure will take.
Post ProceduresClients are able to work immediately following treatment. Experiencing a sun burnt sensation is common. If prescribed, there is pain medication available. Scabbing, crusting or slight bleeding can last for several days. When showering, do not scrub the treated area. Results are permanent and can been seen after a few days. The redness will fade as will the ink.
Removal ResultsThere are noticible results just after one treatment. There will be a more permanent removal over a longer period of time with several treatments.
