Karen is very unprofessional. I will not return for any service from Karen because she is very unprofessional.

She has discussed other clients with me in a disparaging way (that's right - the transgenders, the female Indian client with a lot of facial hair, the female teacher with back hair, etc - I've heard about your intimate issues).

She also mocked me and was very condescending when I expressed concerns about the service I was receiving.

Also, as I read the reviews on this site, it seems very possible that most of the positive reviews were written by Karen herself.

Most knowledgeable, and competent. Karen is the most knowledgeable in her field. Karen is competent and has the best credentials. I have had laser hair removal, permament makeup and electrology done and have been so pleased. Karen's prices are good also.

Aesthetics by Karen. I never had any kind of cosmetic procedures done before I went to Karen so I was real nervous. She was highly recommended to me by another professional. Karen did a fabulous job on my eyebrows. She is very compassionate and caring and does excellent Aesthetics. Karen is definitely a master at everything she does. I would highly recommend her to anyone who wants a quality procedure done.

Karen is Wonderful!!. I had permanent eyebrows done in 2004 in South Florida. I needed to have them redone (too soon in my opinion) and since we moved to the west coast of FL, I didn't know where to go. I went online to do research of aesthetics in the Tampa area and I kept seeing rave reviews about Karen Marlise so I decided to try her. I was not disappointed. Her work is superb and 100 times better than what I had done in South Florida AND was very reasonable. I would not hesitate to go back to Karen for any future work and I would definitely not hesitate to recommend her to anyone. She's a true professional and takes great pride in her work.

Most Friendly Business for Transgendered girls!. As a transgenderd girl i cannot say enough about Karen and her staff. I have never felt so welcome in a business before i met her, Lindsy and Maxine. I have had Laser and Electrolosys at her business and I am totally impressed with the results. My legs and undearms are so silky smooth now and I don't have to worry about shaving. I have been looking for a Hair Removal business for some time and when I met Karen I knew this is the place to go! Karen's credentials are marvelous! She is a Master at what she does. Not only does she practice her trade she is a qualified instructor of Electrolosys, Permanent Makeup just to mention a few classes she offers. As a T-girl I am taking advantage of her makeup classes so that I can be all the woman I can be. Best aesthetician in the Tampa Bay area; no comparison. I never had permanent makeup done, and I was a little scared at first; but from the moment I walked into Karen's home, I felt like I had known her for years and could trust her. She is extremely experienced and has the credentials to prove it. I have gone back many times, for makeup, electrolysis, facials, etc. She is incredibly skilled, especially with the permanent makeup. Not only that, she treats you like a member of her own family. She is also very flexible in her scheduling and will work with YOUR scheduling needs, even if it is early morning or late evening! If you are considering having any type of permanent makeup, hair removal, or anything really, Karen Marlise is the woman to contact. Trust me, you will NOT be disappointed.

She is the Most Professional Lady in the Beauty Business I have ever known. I have been to many different beauty people thru my life but, Karen has them beat hands down. She listens to exactly what you are asking for and informs you in everyway to pros and cons of what you are requesting. It was refreshing..

Anyway, she did the most beautiful eyeliner on me. It is so perfect better than I could ever do for myself. She corrected the old eyeliner I had and now I totally love it....

A TRUE ARTIST OF PERMANENT COSMETIC SERVICES. It had been 8 years since I had had permanent makeup done back in Denver, and was now searching for a professional here in central Florida who could give me the redo I needed. After going to two different ?artists? I was left with a nightmare. My lips were so botched that I truly felt I would never find anyone who would even consider tackling the corrective work necessary. I spent several days back on the internet, and finally found Karen Marlise and what a find!! She took my botched lips, and with her expertise and artistic capabilities, turned my lips into a thing of beauty. Not only did she accomplish the impossible job that many artists would have turned down, she took this job on as a challenge and gave me even better results than what I had received in Denver. Karen is a perfectionist and will go as far as necessary to give you the results you are looking for. Thanks Karen, I am so thrilled AND grateful to have found you!!

Best laser hair removal in Tampa Bay area. I highly recommend Karen. She is very professional, knows her industry, speedy and is more than accommodating with schedules. My results from laser hair removal on the face have been amazing. It took about 11 sessions (asian face) and a few follow-up spot treatments of electro.

I was hesitant to try laser after reading the many conflicting testimonials on its permanence. But with limited funds and a willing to be a guinea pig to the industry, I took the plunge and have been very happy with the outcome. Depending on the face, you can spend YEARS and a ba-zillion hours under the lamp, or give laser a try (if it suits your face).

I'm not a shill nor even anyone related to Karen. You can see me and the results (one day i'll show the before pictures) on youtube under this name: CANDiFLA.

Take into consideration that being asian, i had about the 1/3 of anglo hair coverage, and maybe even less. However, with the laser, it went quickly and easily. Though some people had reactions to the laser, for me, i had very little redness and within an hour or two, i was ready to go out in public. Of course, i was fanatic in keeping ice on my face from the drive home until it melted. ICE YOUR FACE.

I've been to one other hair removal place and i hope she's out of business because she would zap (via electro) and at the end of the session use wax to rip out the hairs. How can you tell if it really works or she's just waxing? Avoid places like that IMO.

Also, for those people concerned about going out in public, Karen has a nice secluded location, so embarrassment is not such a big factor as it would if you went to a salon. Finally, be fair and don't abuse her kindness. Be courteous and keep your appointments, or at least call in advance if you need to cancel.

Give her a shot, i think she'll amaze you, and you in turn will look amazing.

If you're looking for the best permanent make-up artist, look no further!!. I was referred to Karen by a friend for permanent eyeliner. She made my visit very enjoyable and an easy process. The work is the best around and I will definitely go back to Karen in the future. It turned out EXACTLY how I wanted it and with little pain. I would recommend her to anyone!
