Tampa >Ciccio's Water
Cheatus & Tony's.
My husband and I used to LOVE this restaurant. We haven't been there in about 6 months and decided to go there this evening for dinner. We were sorely disappointed.
The wraps are about half the size they once were. I know when I have dipping sauce leftover at the end of my meal, the portions have been significantly altered. Also, I substituted my two side items for one side salad (for $1.50 charge that never used to exist) which consisted of the usual spring mix I was expecting mixed in with romaine hearts and one sad little diced tomato. $11.45+tax not well spent.
My husband and I were debating ordering our favorite appetizer, the veggie guacamole.... only to find it now costs $7.50. I am glad we didn't order it, because who knows what that would have looked like.
The food was mediocre at best, and the new prices are insulting. They should have skipped the half-a$$ remodel and invested in quality ingredients. Service is lackluster. If the waiters could have have stopped checking themselves out, perhaps they could improve in that area.
Still Best South Tampa Restaurant after 10 years. After moving back into town recently, I was so happy to See that these guys not only were still on it, But have opened up more places. Lodge is supposed to be great as well. I lived on this food through High School, Loved it on breaks from college and now am thrilled to have it as a staple in our neighborhood. Also like the St. Pete store. Best Sushi in town, the sad they took off the Napa bowl but they made it for me anyway when i asked. Keep it up guys.
Great new renovation... Best looking waitstaff. I dont know what they did but this place looks great, much bigger than it used to be. Had the Black Angus entree, Best filet in town. This place is the place to see and be seen..... Power lunch spot as well. Love it..
A cool place to hang out with friends and family..
Ciccio & Tony's is a busy neighborhood restaurant specializing in Italian dishes. Colorful, modern tablecloths and comfy lawn chairs give its outdoor patio a relaxing ambience. Inside, it's air-conditioned, but again, the place feels a little loose, with strands of tiny Christmas lights draped across the bar adding a festive tone, and the jovial servers making jokes and gently teasing the diners.
I love this place and I haven't even mentioned the food: terrific. One night, I ordered the grilled stuffed eggplant with goat cheese, basil and tomato puree, and it was so light and delicious I wanted to order seconds.
A teen in our party ordered linguini with sliced breast of chicken, fresh tomato and spinach, perfectly cooked al denteso important in a pasta dish. The penne pasta, bathed in four cheeses, was rich, creamy and totally satisfying. The salads are gorgeous, the bread homemade.
Perhaps Ciccio & Tony's only fault is its chief asset: It doesn't do fast food. Plan to linger and laugh over your meal, and you won't be disappointed.
I Hope South Tampa Location is Better. I hope that the South Tampa Location is better than the relatively new St. Pete location. Stopped in awhile back and wished that I hadn't. A steak quesadilla was one of the specials - it was absolutely HORRIBLE. It had more gristle in it then you would want to know about. I've had better meat at TACO BELL. On the lighter side, the aesthetics of the food was very nice and it was presented in an attractive manner - but it was still BAD... I really hope that the S. Tampa location is better then the St. Pete one. Also, I have friends who refuse to go back because of the snootiness and attitude of employees... If any of Ciccio's management ever read this... improve or perish... there are other choices in the market...
Pasta out the wazoo!. This place is great for lunch and dinner. The wraps and salads at lunch are heavenly and the dinner pasta creations are incredible. For a real treat go on Sunday or Monday night for Pasta Festival- the chef creates different pasta dishes as the night progresses and you get to try them all for only around $15. You will need to not eat for about a day before and after Pasta Festival- it is great!
