Good Customers Have No Problem! – I am a good customer, and am totally pleased with Good As New Appliance, and its owner, Jerry. I have dealt with them on several occasions (and so has my landlord) without problems. While they run a VERY busy business, my questions about pricing, features, warranties (90 days for my purchases), and delivery times were all answered timely and with proper courtesy. For Jerry to curse at someone, they must have set the tone of the conversation beforehand. He showed up to deliver our things when he promised (with tools ready to remove front door), the product did what it was supposed to, it was immaculately clean, and when my refrigerator door wasn't closing, turned out my floor was sloped so all I had to do was tilt the 'fridge back, let the levelers work, and release. NO PROBLEM!!! They are getting my business again this week, and the prices are extremely competitive - lower than buying direct from an owner, who won't give you any warranty. BE NICE TO THEM, AND THEY'LL BE FAIR TO YOU!
Do not buy from these people! I am a landlord and own multiple properties in the Tampa Bay area. I bought a refrigerator from “Good as New” appliances for one of my properties, and when they delivered it the freezer door would not stay shut and kept popping open. My tenants’ Ice cream melted and the food spoiled. I called “Good as New” appliances and told them my issue. The receptionist said that she would let the owner “Jerry” know and that he would call me back. It took a week of calling everyday and asking why I hadn’t received a phone call. The receptionist kept telling me how “busy” Jerry was but that she had it on the top of the to-do list for Jerry. After a week, Jerry finally called me. He was extremely rude and unprofessional, cursing on the phone and complaining about that I was too far away and he was too busy. (I live about 40 minutes from the shop, which they knew when I bought the refrigerator). I finally got him to agree to a date to meet me out there. He didn’t show to the property, so I called him and he said he forgot and was too busy (cursing the whole time). He finally drove down and then yelled and cursed at me saying that there was nothing he could fix about the fridge and that I “f*ing” wasted his time. He drove away. For the next two weeks I called them and the receptionist kept telling me that Jerry will call me, but he never did. The receptionists finally turned rude because I wanted to know why Jerry wasn’t calling me after 2 weeks and started yelling and hanging up the phone… Now here I am, with tenants who have to tape their freezer shut on a refrigerator with a 30-day warranty. Extremely un-professional and dishonest people who should not be in business.
