A New You is not really a Good You.
I just wanted to put my two cents in, so here is the story as I know it.
When I first went there, there was a pleasant lady who performed laser hair removal on my mother and me. The staff at the front was less than pleasant, but bearable.
This continued for a few months, and then they hired someone new to remove our hair.
Now THIS woman is unprofessional.
Apparently the previous woman had been giving away free services without checking with the owner and had been stealing from the company. This is all hearsay and I do not know the accuracy of these details, but this is how it was explained to me.
The new woman that they hired is distinctly lacking in the fine details that make a place go from pleasant, to outright unworthy of my time or money.
I don't know if it is just her personality, or if it is attitude that she shows me when I go in for treatments. I do not care. It comes across as attitude.
I do the bikini line laser hair removal. This new woman is a stickler for the details and only does two finger-widths inside and two finger-widths outside. The inside is fine. But the outside is what I am trying to remove and it extends well past two finger-widths. Is it really so hard to create good customer feng-shue and include those embarrassing areas that really should have been included in the package?
She doesn't leave the room for you to change (out of your clothes and into an oversized towel). Nor does she offer the cheesy fake underwear if you want to wear it. Who cares that it does not hide anything, it is the principle and it should always be offered.
She never reminds you to use the aloe-vera afterwards to help sooth the skin.
And finally... She gave me a sales pitch in the middle of the treatment to both me and my mother for facials. Could I use one? Sure! Who couldn't? Do I need to hear about it while you are burning the hair off of my privates??? NO!
Suffice to say that I will be going elsewhere for my business in the future. I have had enough trashy service and do not need to subject myself to further rudeness. This place is NOT money well spent.…
Terrible!!!!!.
They need to fire all their front desk staff and start over. I had an appointment in December, arrived 10-15 mins before my appt time, checked in and waited, and waited..50 mins later I get up and
ask if they had any idea how much longer it would be. Turns out- the person who was supposed to do my treatment was pulled away on an emergency. Fine, although common courtesy would have been to let me know as soon as they found out, not wait for me to eventually ask them (and waste my time ever more). The person who should have done my treatment did show up and was sincerely apologetic, offered me a free treatment, etc. I was understanding and happy. I went up front to make another appointment and told the lady that I was getting a free treatment. She said- No way! We don't do that. (mind you- she still has not apologized for keeping me waiting!) We called the specialist back and they decided to see what they can do. Last week I had my treatment and sure enough- there was no record of the issue in my file. Nobody remembers it happening. Too bad - too sad, we wasted your time.
I guess, the tip of the iceberg was when in my presence the front desk girl made a comment "I love it when they follow directions" after I told her my paperwork was already completed. Hello- I was there, that was so unprofessional; and I am an adult, so I do know how to fill out paperwork. In her mind that was a compliment!
And I would have brought all of that to the management's attention privately, but I was told that "they are not in the office today" and no contact information was available... way to run a business!…
Not professional, save your money.
I signed up specifically to put the word out on my experience at Anuyou. The staff is not pleasant and the owner is insulting. She certainly needs more of what she offers at her clinic.
The reason for my sour attitude is that I had an appointment and was told to come back for the other half of my session. When I returned, I was told the tech had to leave for an emergency (even though I saw her) because her mother had a heartattack. I was then approached by Hersh and she explained that the tech probrably walked out because she misquoted me. I was then scolded on how each treatment costs her money and that each time I come in, she has to pay someone. I explained this was not my wrong doing, but something "her" employee offered.
I would not go back to this establishment and I hope you take serious thought before trying this place. I wish I had read some reviews before I went there.…
Fabulous Facility and Staff!!!. I am not sure what this obviously disgruntled consumer is talking about or referring to. Anu You Institute is an amazing facility with friendly and professional staff. I wish there was some elaboration as to why this person was angry enough to say bad things about the spa and the staff. And did the owner really 'yell'? There is a difference between disagreeing with a customer and actually raising your voice to a loud and angry volume. I sincerely hope that others do not read her vague review, get discouraged and miss out on experiencing this fabulous Spa. Just to give you all a little bit of my background, I have been in the Spa industry since 1999 acting as President George Bush's private massage therapist along with members of the Kennedy family and several TV personalities so I know a thing or two about professionalism and excellent customer service. I am also an experienced Spa consultant and have developed several high end spas all over New England including Nantucket Island. Anu You is extremely clean, well designed and peaceful. The tranquility that the space offers makes it impossible not to relax and forget about all the stresses of your day. The services are very competively priced and the equipment that the owners have spared no expense on is the best the industry has to offer giving each client amazing results. I have had several treatments with their laser tech, Lauren, who is so friendly with a great sense of humor and she really lightens the mood and actually makes having an otherwise painful procedure enjoyable! I have also had a massage and a facial from Stacy who is the best therapist in Tampa Bay. She has been in the massage and skin care field for over a decade and she is a master of her trade. I have only met the nurse who performs botox and fillers but have seen her work and it is incredible. The front desk staff has recently changed and their is a terrific office manager which has made things run a lot more smoothly. I have never met the owner. Maybe she is not there as often since the new manager started? Another great point to make is that even though Any You is located in the heart of beautiful downtown St. Pete, you can park in the garage that is right around the corner and they will validate your parking so you do not have to worry about finding parking or your meter running out and since the spa is attached to the garage, it is also ideal in inclement weather. I have been to all of the 'Massage Envy's' and 'Massage Spas' in the area in addition to the Don Cesar, The Vinoy and Tranquility and Anu You is above and beyond the best Spa in Tampa Bay. I hope all you folks give them a chance. I promise you will not be disappointed. I even encourage flgirl01 to remove the chip from her shoulder and give them another try. Maybe this time you won't have a reason to tell the owner bad things about her business and her staff. If all goes well, maybe you can even remove this review since people's careers could be effected.…
Worst Spa Ever. The staff at the front desk are rude and gossipy teenagers, when trying to relax in a serene environment this is the last thing you want. Now, if you are treated poorly the only thing you can do is never return, since telling the owner, Linda, will do absolutely nothing. Linda will not only treat you worse, but she also doesn't care. If you say anything bad about the spa or her staff she just yells at you until you stop talking. What a way for an owner to act!!…
