I am very happy with the service I received here.
I was having connection problems with my laptop and I had called 1 of the places I saw advertised on a telephone pole with low price - Big Mistake, before I got off the phone we were up to $250 and that was if I didn't need a part. Yikes.
I was very skeptical now of computer repairers but decided to try Geekmatics because they had good reviews on Google. I am glad I did. They are very friendly there, everything was explained to me in easy to understand terms and because of this I decided to go with the repairs which ended up being $99.
Not a Fan. Took one laptop in was charge $60 for them to tell me it would not turn on, which is what I told them. They guessed a problem with the hard drive. Two days later took another computer in and was quoted 2 hours labor $120 to remove the back panel and check the power supply. I did it myself in 15 minutes. AVOID
We offer $60 diagnostic (all hardware and software is checked and full report given - we do not GUESS) and the diagnostic charge is then WAIVED with repair. This person opted not to spend any money to repair the laptop.
A 2 hour labor charge is not for checking anything, it would have been a repair involving the removing of the motherboard, nothing that can be done in 15 minutes.
Our techs are certified and know what they are doing and do not guess.
Overcharged...feels pretty dishonest. Had a Macbook pro that I replaced the hard drive on. Didn't have the right install disk, so I thought there was an issue with hardware. They Installed OS and charged me 100.00. Apple sells install disk for 18 dollars shipped next day air. NEVER again ;(
All charges are quoted up front and approved before any work is done. This customer already tried to install the OS himself and could not do it and expected us to do if for free.
Would NOT recommend.
Took my computer in on a Thursday around 1pm...was told i might get it back tomorrow or Monday probably at the latest. Ended up taking 3 weeks to get back.
Was told on 2 different occasions I would receive a call with an update and never did. I did receive update calls throughout the process but not on those 2 days i was told i would.
Very unclear regarding explaining the costs of services over the phone...was only told about the cost of the equipment (external hard drive) but the additional fees applied were not discussed. Approximately $79 was discussed for the external hard drive and what i was expecting to pay when i went in...had a $205 bill I had to pay when i went to pick up my computer.
Overall very upset with my experience. Would never do business with again and would not suggest others to do business.
All charges for the service performed were discussed w/ the customer at the very beginning as always. $79 was for only the cost of the hard drive he decided to purchase not for the work he had approved to be done. We offered to take price of the HD off his invoice but he insisted he needed it. We try very hard to satisfy our clients computer needs reasonably. We are a family owned business and have been serving this area for 8 yrs. Why would we deliberately try make our customers unhappy??
OUTSTANDING SERVICE. I have never written a review of any business before but this one deserves special mention. Not only did they respond quickly to an urgent request for service but they did not even charge me as they only spent a half an hour and used no parts---do yourself a favor and patronize these guys
