I have been looking for a restaurant that serves authentic Greek food in the area for quite some time now. The drive to Tarpon Springs had just become too tedious for a mediocre meal. My wife and I stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant when a bright neon blue Aphrodite's sign was put up right in my neighborhood. The service was excellent, and the food second to none. I was delighted to see a menu filled with no less than twelve specialty martinis that cannot be found anywhere else in Tampa Bay and an unmatched wine selection. I experienced more than I expected and cuisine better than I could have ever hoped for. I particularly reccommend the shellfish gnocchi: lobster, crab, and shrimp tossed with gnocchi in a lemon marscapone herb-cream sauce, and as long as you promise not to tell her, the mousaka just might put my mother's recipe to shame. If you do nothing else for yourself this month, do yourself this favor and go experience Aphrodite's as frequently and as soon as possible.

Cons: If what your looking for if a fast food gyro you won't find "fast food" here.

If you are looking for a place to eat good food in a relaxing and classy atmosphere Aphrodites is your place. This resturant brings Greek Cuisine to Tampa, and saves you the trip to Tarpon Springs. The menu itself is different than any other, and the service goes smoothly as the taste of many of their fine wines. If your looking for a nice romantic evening, you will enjoy the low lighting and stylish decor. In the event that you are bringing family, Aphrodites has a kids menu to accommodate. In all I experienced first rate service, excellent attention to detail, and one of the best evenings with my family (which was a table of 6).
