Tips for A Very Important Pet

Treated as though my pets were very UN-IMPORTANT. Upon looking for a place to board my 2 cats, I came across "A Very Important Pet" online. On the web site and on the phone, the owner sounded very sweet and made it sound like she was giving me a great deal. However, I received a call the next day from another pet boarding place that was willing to board my cats for $4 less per day per cat but, since I was immediately required to give a deposit, I was unable to switch... boy do I wish I did!

Upon bringing my cats to "A Very Important Pet" I was instructed to leave them on the floor and go. When I asked to see the "condo" and the room they would be staying in they refused my request. Now I certainly was not about to leave my cats without actually seeing what the living conditions would be. The cashier mocked me, making me feel like I was asking for something outrageous. She finally, hesitantly, rolled the condo out to the front for me to see, but never allowed me the opportunity to see the room they were in (who knows what it was like!).

Upon obtaining my cats after their stay, they were filthy dirty and smelled like a combination of wet dog and feces. In fact, one of my cats had a dried up piece of feces stuck to the back of her butt. My cats were starved for affection and it was very clear that they did not receive any attention from the staff. Also, one of my cats came home ill. She was fatigued with a runny nose and a scratchy voice. Upon arriving home, my cats ran to their food and water bowls like they hadn't eaten in days.

Any little request I had (ex: brushing) I was told that I would have to pay extra for and on the day I requested to pick my cats up (New Years Day), I had to pay an extra "holiday charge" even though staff had to be there anyway to care for the animals.

Overall, I felt as though this place was primarily concerned about making money and could care less about giving pets the love and affection they deserve. Perhaps the name should be changed to "A Very Un-Important Pet" because that is certainly a better reflection of my experience there.

Thank you A Very Important Pet. I have been using A Very Important Pet for 3 years now and I have to say "Thank You So Much". My happy little pooch just loves to come play! Before I starting going to this facility my baby was very depressed and had alot of separation anxiety. Now my baby is so much happier at home and any where we may go. Jaycee told me along time ago this is the normal but I really didn't believe her. It took awhile to happen but after going she is tired and just looks like she had a good day. Now I see how great the play days and meeting up with her little friends has made such a difference in her life. I know how much fun she has and I really appreciate everyone there. Thanks again for all your experience and your caring staff.

Great Boarding in Clearwater. I am very happy that I have found this facility being the owner of 3 dogs can be very expensive especially because I like the no cage situation for my pets. They give me the 3rd dog free and my dogs just love it. I would highly recommend this service to any one who loves the cageless boarding. They have treated me like family and the monitors that are in the place make me feel like my dog is safe and they are really a great group of people. They always up-date me and I love that so.

Great Sitters. My mini pinched had a 4 day border stay and we are very pleased with the outcome. We chose to first visit the site without notice just to see what the level of quality would be. It was clean, the other dogs being housed appeared to be healthy and happy. We walked around and met the staff who were all very friendly and knowledgeable. We felt comfortable leaving our dog there and although I am elated to be back home and to have him with us, I now know a great place to house him when we're vacationing.

Pet Adoptions. We adopted a mixed breed terrier. It took a little longer than I wanted, but it was worth it. VIP is very thorough and careful about where they place their dogs, which is fine with me because it let me know that they cared about her and what home she would end up in. They gave us a chance to visit with her several times before the adoption was final and that gave us time to bond and get to know her likes and dislikes. They're worth the time and money spent. When it's time to adopt a companion for Chelsea, we'll be going through VIP.

Best Dog Boarder and Sitter. What a great place - our dog absolutely loved it. We traveled to Florida to visit family and had to take an unexpected trip to NY while there. Riley (our dog) hates airplanes, so we were desperate to find a place that would house him until we returned (5 days later). We considered a private dogsitter, but the idea of leaving him with someone we didn't know in a city we were only visiting didn't sit too well with me. I searched the web and found A Very Important Pet. We brought Riley along with us when we toured the facility and from moment one, I knew he was in a good place. He loved running around, playing with the other dogs and interacting with the staff - a staff who seemed to genuinely love dogs. We hung out for about 45 minutes and he didn't want to leave. We dropped him off 2 days later and he practically leaped out of the car before we could turn the engine off. With everything we had going on, it was such a relief to know that he was in good hands. When we picked him up, he was happy to see us, but he wasn't necessarily ready to leave. His coat was shiney, his spirits were up and he was super playful - he was absolutely in his element. I highly recommened VIP for anyone seeking a safe, sound and caring environment for their dog. We'll be returning to Florida for the holidays, and we plan to let Riley stay at VIP for a few nights just to reconnect with that experience.

Best pet care. Hands down the best place I have ever takin my dog Annie . She always comes back clean and happy. Furthermore you will want to make good use of the daycare so you can finish some daily activities knowing

your dog is in experienced hands. As far as im concerned this is the only place I will bring my annie.

come in and see any time.. The review about using collars is absolutely untrue. The only collar we have ever used is a sonic collar that emits a sound that dogs hear. We do not believe in any kind of pain given to a dog to stop them from barking. Our doors are always open and you can see through our glass windows at the dogs any time you come in. I have an incredible staff that is really doggie savy and we all enjoy our work and love the dogs very much. We use lots of exercise and fun to ease any kind of anxiety and it really does work. We are open 7 days a week stop by and look in. You will see alot of happy dogs running all over the place having a good time.

My VIP experience at A Very Important Pet. I inherited a little Pomeranian named Daisy. Daisy is so cute, but she is 15 years old. I was so concerned about taking her to just any groomer or boarder around. She had also been through enough already, and I wanted her to be treated like the little angel that she is.

I heard about A Very Important Pet through some colleagues of mine and decided to give the place a try. When I walked in, the owner just happened to be at the front door and she opened the door for me and gave me a big welcoming smile. She immediately started talking to Daisy. Daisy seemed to respond to her. I put Daisy down and she got scared. The owner assured me Daisy would be fine and that she would have a good experience here at the center.

So I dropped Daisy off. A few hours later I received a phone call to come and get Daisy that she was ready. When I picked Daisy up, she was so clean and well groomed, she was adorable. They had done such a beautiful job and Daisy seemed in such good spirits that I knew she had a good time there. She also had a ribbon in her hair that made her so cute, I could not wait to hold her. She was barking and talking to the other dogs, as if to say good bye, see ya later, my mom is here. She looked wonderful, she felt great and the price was reasonable too.

Since Daisy had such a nice time there, we know we will use the daycare service as well.
