GREAT Rib Specials. We visited Leatherbacks twice near the end of our 3 months near Madiera Beach. We wish we had gone earlier! First time we went for drinks ... Margaritas ... they were generous and tasty. We met the manager that evening who was very friendly and gave us coupons. We returned for the Monday night Rib Special a couple weeks later and were VERY pleased. Plentiful food, well-prepared, tasty and timely. All the help we encountered was VERY friendly and helpful. Parking is easy and plentiful. We will definitely go there more more often next winter.

A terrible dining experience.. I used to love this place and even recommended it to friends-no more!. They just started a new menu that stinks! Small portions, poorly presented food, poor service. I brought 10 people here for my birthday dinner, and we all were so disapointed. Everyone around us was complaining about the menu and food. I will NEVER go back.

Great steaks and seafood. My husband and I have been to Leatherback's twice - both when staying on the beach for a mini-vacation. Their food has been spectacular both times. The coconut shrimp appetizer was one of the best we've had, and we try the coconut shrimp everywhere we go. The sirloin steak was tender and flavorful with very little fat. My grilled grouper was done to perfection and topped with a lemon butter sauce. The garlic mashed potatoes were to die for. The house salad has some interesting additions - hearts of palm, pine nuts and gorgonzola cheese, which made it flavorful and memorable. The bread was also tasty and fresh. We topped everything off with Creme Brulee cheesecake and it was great! I highly recommend this place as delightful treat when on vacation or anytime!

worst service from server. Leatherbacks use to be my favorite, greeter tried to sit us next to a party of many children, when we ask for another table which was clearly visable, she walked us back up front to get ok ,very agitated young girl. Server didn't follow up on our meals after they were brought out, Mine didn't have lemon sauce as ordered , when my husband got his attention , his comment, I don't have time right now. I will never forget those words. When he brought the sauce, the fish was cold, and his comment was tilapia dosen't come with a choice of sauce just the rainbow trout. The manager was busy putting out fires at a table next door, so we could wait or leave . We chose to leave since it was my husbands birthday and try to forget it. We wonder if its changed owners.

The BEST Steak. After trying every "steak specialty" restaurant in Pinellas County, a review in a Thursday edition of St. Petersburg Times, had me trying this restaurant. The center cut sirloin was 99% free of fat, and cooked to perfection. It was seasoned in a way that enhanced the flavor of the meat. Add a baked potato and a side vegetable, and it was a feast.
