WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE WITH AN ATTITUDE. I made an appointment and got there 5 minutes early. When I got there I was told that my appointment was cancelled because I was 10 minutes late! So, as she was trying to tell me that I must have gotten the appointment times wrong, I then remembered that I got a confirmation text from them of my appointment time. Even though I showed her my appointment time confirmation text she REFUSES to allow me an appointment as they are "booked". Are you kidding me???? I was there 5 minutes early and you cancel my appointment because I am late. She still has an attitude with me the whole time and continues to try to make it out like it was my fault. And we can reschedule for another day. So, I am like, so you think I texted myself a fake appointment confirmation???? Worst customer service ever. I left and went to a real salon - JCON who knows about customer service. I'd rather pay extra than have them waste my time!!

I will never step foot in another Aveda Institute again. After going to the downtown location for years I just experienced the worst customer experience possibly ever. It wasn't even the student's fault, it was the educator Sherry who was very rude and made an embarrassing scene for there. I walked out, went to another salon who was more than willing to cut my hair with no problems as stated by Aveda. I try to complain to a "manager" there, and all I got was the problem was my own fault and they are experienced professionals. Well, if they are trained professionals as you claim, then maybe you should teach your employees to have a bit more professional courtesy. I have a referred a good number of people there who continued to go there. After sharing my experience with a few of those people, and they already said they won't be returning as they have had unprofessional encounters of their own & after my story that was enough for them. I couldn't even get someone from the location to return my call.

Had a very good experience at this salon. I went in at 9:15 and got a bikini wax appointment for 10. They welcomed me in, and were very quick to place me. Amanda S. did my wax and she was very nice and friendly. It was not painful at all. And the prices were great

Aveda Institute does not care about NEW customers!. This was my first visit to Aveda. I called one week ahead of time to make my appt. I called the day before to make sure I had enough time for the appt. I arrived on time and they told me to sit and wait. As people were walkiing in off the street, the students would come and get them one by one and they did not have appts. already set. I asked if someone could take me and the girl went in the back and stated someone would be out. Another 10 minutes and no one came out. Now the entire lobby was cleared out except me. I had waited 25 minutes & left and told them I will never come back since this is the way they treat thier NEW customers! Obviously, my business was not important to them. I should contact Tabatha's Take Over and let them know how not to be trained in an Institute! Those students won't be making any money living on "word of mouth!" I will make sure everyone knows the experience I had at the Aveda Institute!!!

I keep going back..... I've had my hair cut there several times, usually by masters students, once by one level below. I've only gotten one not-so-great cut (by a masters student overseen by an educator more interested in looking at herself in the mirror than checking my cut). One time I had the best cut I've ever gotten in my life by a masters student- but she did fill me in on similar horror stories about the program that I've seen in other reviews- aloof educators, long days, can't sit down, harsh rules etc. She said to do over she'd have never gone to school there. Love to find her now, she was awesome, but I think it was more about talent and motivation rather than the program at Aveda that made her so good.

Aveda. I really like what they've done with my hair and make up for special occasions, but I feel that they could be more friendly.

scam. My daughter attended the Aveda Institute in St. Pete, FL

She was excited and impressed by the appearance of the school, we were told they had a high graduation rate and that the guaranteed job placement. All not true.

Once all the funds had been paid for her tuition they started to harass her, write her and it appeared they were going out of their way to terminate her from the program, I soon found out she was not alone. It was seriously the worst experience ever. She regrets choosing the Aveda Institute, and we want to make sure that any one who is looking at this school, be aware of the fact that they will terminate you for non sense, like being tardy or missing a saturday, even if you have a death in the family or are sick, one student had to produce a death certificate for her grandmother to avoid being terminated, another was terminated for not putting her cigarette out more than 2 blocks away from the school, when she tried to appeal the decision she was told that the Aveda Institute sees themselves as the juliard of hairdressing which is ridiculous. This is a trade school, and no it is not julliard not even close. My daughter was terminated for missing a saturday. If you have completed more than the intro phase they keep 100% of your tuition, so we feel it is a numbers game they enroll as many students as possible then get rid of them as soon as they can keep the money, my daughter said there were over 50 in her intro class and less than 10 graduated.

I LVOE IT GOOD QUALITY FOR SUCH A LITTLE PRICE. BEST PLACE EVER I LVOE IT SOOO MUCH SO CHEAP AND SUCH A GREAT PLACE ALL NATURAL AND GREAT WORK

worst salon experience!. I was there from 5:30 until 9 pm. They close at 8 pm and only stayed after talking to the director who agreed to cut my hair which was my real intention. The teachers were horrible, did not know what they were doing (SANDY). If she shows up to help you student run out the door. My color is horrible and she would not let the student stay to cut my hair. It took 45 mintues of toner to fix the color issue and it still looks horribel. I will never return. I am going to my usual salon in 2 days to fix this fiasco. I would never go back or to any AVEDA salon again.

DO NOT GO!!!!!!. Okay, yes I know they are students...to give them a break...it really is the idiot instructors! The first time shame on them, the second time shame on me! Yes! Second time I came back to get the same burgundy, blackish hair!!! I brought in pictures and said over and over and over NO RED! After 3 hours the instructor said that they were closing and there is nothing he could do! I work 6 days a week - only ONE day off each week I can't just take off hours and hours to have them "fix" my hair! Save your money up and go to a real salon! YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!
