Love the dress code!. I love a club that has a dress code. I'm sick of walking into a bar and having a bunch of thugs trying to run the place. The doormen are strict on the dress code. The crowd seemed to be ages 23-30 for the most part. You need to make friends with the bartenders or it can be difficult to get a drink in a timely manner. If you are in the mood to dance, I would recommend Bricktown.
Best drink specials. For people in and around Tampa Bay, Bricktown 54 is THE place to be on Monday nights! $1 for almost anything in the bar, including Crown, Long Islands, Ketel one Vodka! The play a good mix of current hip hop, techno and old school (and for you sports fans, they do have 4 TVs in the place and they always have the game on). But the door guys are pretty strict on the dress code, so dress to impress (no sneakers or baggy clothes allowed). They get pretty packed, so try to get there before 10:30 or you may end up waiting a while in line. Oh, make sure you tip the staff well, or they will end up ignoring you (I learned that the hard way!). But seriously, you're only spending a buck on drinks, so tip a buck or two for each drink, and you'll be the first to get served anytime you walk up to the bar. Go there with $20 and you'll leave with a good buzz. Friday nights they change there specials every few months, but right now its free bud and coronas. And ladies get in free before 10 or 11. Drinks are regular price, but they are not as expensive as other nightclubs around. Same type of music as Monday, just not as hardcore. If you like older dance/funk/disco, then Saturday night is your night. The only specials they run that night are shot specials every hour or so. There are plenty of tables, 3 bars on 3 different levels, and plenty of dance space (they even let you dance on the bar!!) I went in with a bunch of my girlfriends, and had a blast. There are always groups of women there for bachelorette parties (or divorce parties!) because they really cater to their female customers. The security staff will even walk you to your car if some creep is bothering you! This place is really the place to go if you're looking for some place fun and safe. And if you're just into people watching, there are plenty of characters there to amuse you!
