Not all that it's cracked up to be

My husband took me to the Red Rose Dining Room yesterday to celebrate Valentines day. He made reservations for 11 AM as he was told it was brunch. The decor was beautiful. But I have to say we were completely disappointed in the service and the food. We arrived early but they were still unprepared to set us until almost 11:30 AM. When we were seated, the wait staff didn't seem to know what was going on. Finally, a young waiter took our drink order of coffee. The food was cold. Everything was in chafing dishes. The bacon and sausage were cold. I tried the stuffed pork with egg noodles. Very cold. The prime rib was cold, and the au jus was actually gravy, which was cold. then we were surprised that we were charged for the coffee and glass of juice that he ordered. Normally this would have been incl. in the price. We were not complaining as to the price of the buffet. But totally expected a much better experience. The wait staff stood around chatting with each other instead of passing by the tables to ask if you needed more coffee. I honestly will not reccomment this restaurant to anyone. If they weren't going to be set up and prepared by 11AM then they should not take reservations for that time. The whole experience was a total disappointment, and made my husband feel terrible that he had planned a very special day and to have it spoiled. If I could give the restaurant half a star I would. Sorry to disappoint anyone. But it was truly awful.
One of the best in a 15 mile radius

The Rose is my most favorite place to dine. The star light ceiling, the band playing, the service, the whole atmosphere . Quite yet up beat The food is the greatest and the buffet twice a week is well worth it. Best thing between Tampa and Orlando.
hidden gem

From the incredible decor to fresh rose presenred to my date at the end of an outstanding dining experience this place is a true GEM. Do yourself a favor and experience this one! The best restaurant this side of Palm Beach. The food is surpassed only by the service.
- Pros: The knowledgeable, friendly staff.
- Cons: The experience had to end.
Holiday Buffets or anytime great food
by kdpowell at Citysearch
If you are looking for an EXCELLENT THANKSGIVING MEAL, this is your place. Make reservations in plenty of advance! So many options for food (buffet style) that even the pickiest eater, or the person on a special diet will most likely find food they can eat. Tables for large crowds or small groups. The service, food, and beverages are excellent.
- Pros: Ambience, Parking, Service, Food selection, Wine Selction, TERRIFIC QUALITY
- Cons: A bit difficult to get to off the highway. Advice: get verbal directions from a local.
Whisked back in time... "under the stars"
by smartnsnotti at Citysearch
Red Rose is a very unique environment with the pressed linen tablecloths, roses on the tables for special occasions, professionally dressed servers, a bartender that can really make a Manhattan for my 84 year old mother-in-law and still make my martini perfect. I would say that under-the-stars is most romantic, coupled with excellent food, like steak cooked properly and accompanied by a starch the old fashioned way; Escargot anyone? The live entertainment featured is kind to the ears romantic music like Sinatra, Streisand...etc. This place is NOT trendy, and thats what makes it glow! You can get your little booth away from it all, just ask...By the way, I'm 37, not 100.
- Pros: Romantic, professional staff: no server plopping down to "chat" and become your best friend
- Cons: If you are looking "to be seen" it won't happen here, this is old-fashioned high end dining.
