The Rack in Great. I have alway liked the rack because of its diversity of flavor. Where else can you go to get a great order of wings and follow it up with a roll of some of the best sushi in town.

I have always loved playing pool but now they top it all with the ability to play ping pong. You just throw down a table and net when you get a pool table. The reason for holding out on the fifth star is because they do a terrible job of monitoring the tables. You can get on a list but in the end it is painfully obvious the "hostess" doesn't care if you get a table or not.

Did I mention they play great music? The have new stuff mixed in with great 80s music. I think that tends to pull a slightly older crowd that standard Howard area.

Strange little place... in a very ncie way... STRANGE LITTLE PLACE... It is really not a Pool Hall and not a Sushi place... I REALLY ENJOYED IT... Good crowd (lots of people that have jobs and are not married) But, try to find a parking space a midnight... It will not happen... I'll be back in Tampa next year and hope it is still there, since these little hidden gems tend to disappear.

Best Sushi & Happy Hour!. This joint serves up the best sushi & happy hour you can find. Friendly atmosphere, great pool & nightly specials during the week. I highly recommend coming here. It is a local's favorite so if you are visiting the area you will get a flavor of what the locals in Tampa really like. But CitySearch is really crappy...I couldn't even type the name of the place in my review because it said that the "r&ck" spelled with an a is an inappropriate word...I would rather use the local 813area website that gives much better information about Tampa.

Best sushi/poolhall I've ever seen!. It's difficult to truly pinpoint what type of establishment this really is, but the combination works! There's nowhere else in town where you can shoot pool, play darts, and eat sushi (as well as other American-fusion menu items), and watch your favorite sports in a clean, friendly environment. The decor is simple yet chic, with several paintings from local artists adorning the walls. The crowd is typically the 25-35 hipsters, but the welcoming smiles from the staff makes anyone feel welcome. The food is WAY above par from typical poolhall fare! Some of my favorite items are the 25 cent wings (that come in 3 flavors), the volcano sushi roll, and their bankshot pasta dish. Plus they've recently added ALL-You-Can-Eat Crab legs Monday nights and lunch is offered 5 days a week. Smokers don't worry- there is a comfortable patio you can get full service on while you smoke.

They'll cater any kind of party or special event that you can think of with any of their menu items and some special requests if you ask nicely =).

If you don't mind a packed house come out on a Tuesday, Friday, or Saturday night----you'll be sure to have a great time!

Stale Sushi. We have gone there for Sushi on several occasions. It is close to our house. It has always tasted old. The other food is ok. The place is great for a beer.

An elegantly rendered combo of eight ball and nigiri in Tampa's first pool room-sushi hall.. The Scene
There's respectable play at most of the tables in the cool, low-lit, leather-couched space--but players tend toward the amateur, not serious cue-toters. Overall, the crowd is mainly professionals and hipsters, mostly in their 30s. The place makes for a fun date or a fun place to look for one.

The Food
The grouper volcano roll (baked grouper on a California roll), the Blue Gardenia (smoked salmon, crab, smelt, avocado) and the Rack (eel, crab stick, cucumber and cream cheese) are each a complex marriage of cooked and raw, crunchy and softly plush. Even the classic standbys are fresh-tasting and carefully rolled. There are also spins on some barroom staples: Beer-battered onion rings are sweet and greaseless, the Iron Man coconut fried jumbo shrimp can be a charred mess, and the crab cake sometimes boasts too much filler, so you may want to go the chopsticks route.

Rack 'Em Up!. The food at the Rack was such a pleasant suprise. It was great! The main problem is the drink service. We started ordering two drinks at a time because we knew it would take them that long to get back around and return with a drink. It makes for a fun evening though.

Great Happy Hour. The Rack has it all: great Jukebox, Goldentee, plenty of pool tables, full restaurant, sushi bar...I love it. The service is sooo slow, but if you have the biggest Happy Hour group there on a Friday night, your group get $100 bar tab, courtesy of the house. I just love this place.
