25% gratuity automatically added to the bill in the group I was in.. Ive lived in this area for 26 years and had never heard of this restaurant. My husband and I joined a group of 16 friends at the Grecko Grill for a birthday dinner. There was only one waiter. Then we were informed there was no liquor license, and I got a look at the pedestrian wine list. Nothing memorable there. Progressing on, the mediocre, expensive, forgettable Greek salad that I judge a Greek restaurant by speaks for this establishment as it turned out. The upswing of the evening occurred when the Greek themed main courses that I sampled were tasty and well prepared. The real surprise of the evening occurred when I discerned a 25% gratuity had been added to the bill. I will speak for myself. Will I ever return to this restaurant again under the current management? No.
Best Grouper Sandwich in the U.S.. An undiscovered (please keep it that way) secret of amazing food on the beaches of Pinellas County. Worth a drive from Tampa and my flight in from California to experience the best grouper sandwich ever to hit my palate. 10 out of 10 on the culinary score with the charm Greek operator known fondly as "Momma" . She goes to the docks each day to bring the fresh catch back to her establishment that hugs Gulf Blvd. The meal there consistently beats out the top performers from Zagat. Please do not tell too many people about this jewel.
