Solid Asian fare, relaxed atmosphere, friendly service.. I just have recently move to the greater North Tampa Area and found this spot just a few minutes from my house. Its has a very non descript exterior but growing up in california around a ton of great asian cuisine I find these places are often the best. Their Japanese food is very good, the sushi is fresh and the chef has enough sense to be honest on what is tasting good that day and what is so so. Now being both a Chinese and Japanese eatery a lot of alarm bells would normally go off but China Fuji keeps thing relativly simple and does them well. Their Tempura is very tasty and the Hawaiian roll is excellent (Salmon and Cream Cheese roll flash fried and served with a creamy dipping sauce). If you want to get really extravagant try the Surf and Turf roll which was best described by my friend as being "Buttery Beef Explosion". As for there Chinese food, the dishes I have sampled I found it to be "OK". The friend rice is a little heavy on the soy and I found most crispy dishes (I.e. orange chicken, sesame chicken, etc.) Where a bit soggy for my taste. As for the service it is VERY friendly and the atmosphere is very casual. A great lunch spot to say the very least.
Very good food and service. Chinese and Japanese food. Very fresh sushi. Extremely polite servers. The whole family works there. Nice decor for a strip mall restaurant and reasonable prices. I am a regular diner.
Wow was very pleased and no wait. Outstanding service! Will go back again. The staff was great and very friendly. Sushi was always made fresh on every order.
Best.
This place is awesome. They have a full Chinese and Japanese menu. When I think of fusion I think of mixed cultures, but since the Asian cuisine seems to predominate I'll save my esoteric elitist rants for later, when I find a place that will combine Italian and Indian cuisine or something like that.
If you are looking for Chinese/Japanese or something like that this place pwn3s all others. They have GREAT sushi and sashimi (however small portions of sashimi, it is still great). Large glass murals and a painted ceiling make the ambience great, and if you ask for a Singapore Mei Fun they actually ask you, "how hot?." It may seem very nonchalant at first being in a Publix plaza, but this place is off-the-chain. I highly recommend this place, to anyone in the North-Tampa area. I would love a true fusion-style restaurant here, but if you searched Citysearch for a good fusion-style Asian cuisine this is the place to go.
