This was the Largo location on West Bay Drive. We eat at every place possible in Pinellas county. 2 to 4 times a week. Heard The Thirsty Marlin was good. Decided to give it a try. The wait staff were prompt and friendly, the place was clean and the ambience nice. The food was mediocre at best. Ordered a soft shell crab sandwich which to unbeknownst to me, it came out as a "whole" crab on an onion roll. I did not want this at all, offered to pay for it (which they gladly let me) and ordered a cuban sandwhich in it's place. The Cuban was not at all indicitive of an authentic cuban. Castro would have shot the man who made it. My wife ordered a Ahi Sensation Tuna sandwich. Ordered it rare, rare, rare, in which it came out medium-well to very-well. Not impressed at all with the food. Everything was just so-so. Not worth the price. Would not recommend or go back. Much better food at Bonefish or Rumba.
- Pros: Ambience, wait staff
- Cons: Food
Poor constomer service and featured on ABC's "Dirty Dining" segment

I am on a committee for a non-profit charity recently formed to honor my late nephew who lost his life due to complications of melanoma. I sent a letter to Michael Flowers, owner, stating that we would like to advertise local businesses at our upcoming fundraiser in exchange for a raffle item of their choice. Today I called Mr. Flowers to ask if he received my letter and if he had any consideration towards helping our fundraiser. His response was nothing but unprofessional, in my opinion. He replied by saying, ?Yeah, I probably got it, but I?m counting money and can?t talk right now. Goodbye.? He then abruptly hung up. Of the twenty-two businesses I solicited for raffle items, Mr. Flowers was by far the most inconsiderate and unsympathetic towards our foundation, in my opinion. I have had many businesses offer gift certificates, and some decline. However, they did so with respect. I am a life-long resident of the area and due to Mr. Flowers? discourteous actions my patronage and recommendation to out-of-town friends and relatives towards the Thirsty Marlin will cease.
After all this I see them featured on ABC's Dirty Dining? Karma is a b**ch. Over 60 violations?? WOW, goodluck getting new customers. I continually offer my opinion to tourist and mention the "Dirty Dining" spot.
- Pros: None
- Cons: Many
