Deeee Sgusting. So we got the pork loin and it turned out to be the grossest, fattiest pork chop. We are convinced that it was a very, fat, old cat. Then there was the seafood dish. It claimed to have lobster but didn't have one piece. It was like eating a block of salt. Lastly the pizzette (a.k.a. poopette) was just plain awful. The server did not visit our table for the first 30 minutes. It took a hour to get our appetizers and they were also horrible. Never go to this restaurant if you want to have an enjoyable meal. NEVER GO!!!
Chez Bryce has fallen off.
The first time we tried Chez Bryce for dinner, it was a nice experience overall. We sat in the courtyard and enjoyed the talented live musician. They were out of one each of the food and beverage items we tried to order, but the attentive service and tasty duck special more than made up for it. The truffle mac was delicious as well. Panna cotta dessert was just ok, but it didn't keep us from coming back.
The next visit we tried brunch, and it was great. The pork sandwich was awesome, the mushroom eggs benedict was satisfying. We had an excellent male server who kept our drinks full at all times.
Our final visit was a major disappointment. They did not have the beloved pork sandwich (though it was on the menu, and we were seated within 30 minutes of opening), and the lobster sandwich was not on the menu (it is still on their website menu) - leaving just three sandwich options. The onions on the croque madame sandwich were practically raw instead of caramelized as the menu describes. The smoked turkey sandwich had fresh bread but otherwise was very bland, plus the meat taste and texture seemed off. Panera makes a better turkey sandwich, for less money. The service was the low end of average, even though our waitress had just one other table to tend to. I will be taking my business elsewhere in the future. It is a shame because I had really been looking forward to dining there, but I see from other online reviews I am not the only person who left with a bad taste in my mouth.
Terrible. I had a terrible experience at this place, and would reccommend never eating here. This is not real French food. My sister had insects in her lettuce, was not cleaned properly before a salad was made. I had the fattiest piece of steak ever, very poorly cooked and terrible choice of meat for $20.00 a plate. Plus, the server wanted to argue over the insects in the salad and it took over an hour to get our entree's after we ordered. This is a case were image deceived me, and I wasted a pretty penny eating at this place. Never again and would reccommend avoiding it at all cost, you can get a better meal at a mall foodcourt.
Wonderful blend of flavors, incredible service, great atmosphere, charming and sophisticated. As a lover of French food and always willing to try a new one, I found Chez Bryce to exceed my expectations. For me though, the food is only part of the experience, albeit an important one. Everything from the atmosphere to the service is tops at Chez Bryce. We had a salad and the incredible macaroni and cheese before enjoying the crepe which is mouth watering. The mixture of flavors is wonderful. The crepe is a savory (think wheat instead of sweet like dessert crepes) that's served with an egg cooked sunny side up, ham and carmelized onions. The blend of sweet and salty made this dish a must-try! Though to full to enjoy dessert, it was highly recommended that we try this dish which is made with fresh watermelon juice and crushed ice. What a perfect ending. Service is important to me as well as the food. The waiter Michael is so amazing that he spoiled us for any other waiter or waitress. His professionalism, attentiveness and knowledge of food is impressive. He and Bryce make an excellent team!
Good Atmosphere; So so Dishes; Rude and Snobby Girl waitress/hostess. An amazing atmosphere on the deck overlooked by the nearby bank-scrapers of downtown Tampa, especially at night. The food is interesting, innovative, tasteful, and certainly - French. Employees, at least the girl who seems to act as if she owns the place, was quite rude to my lady friend qnd myself- befitting of the cliche attitude of closeby Hyde Park. Other than actions of the snobbish staff, this new Island Bistro is a solid B/B- for innovative food ideas and a great atmosphere, though I can only credit the former to the restaurant (the building has been around for a long time before this place opened).
