Nantucket Bay and Gatehouse Management not Senior friendly or good stewards.

As a resident I think it unfortunate that Nantucket Bay and Gatehouse Management, Inc. of Mansfield, Massachusetts are so indifferent to the needs of its residents. They continually fail to provided even the minimum standards of compliance with State and Local Health, Safety and Fire Regulations without having to notify the Fire Marshall or Code Enforcement. It has been a ongoing battle between the residents, the residents council and management for the last several years.
The Property and its amenities are poorly maintained, numerous pieces of pool furniture damaged and/or broken and covered with mold, pool maintenance and cleanliness haphazard, mold in walls of some units, old dirty carpeting needs replacing, peeling and stained bathroom floors, no rain gutters on four of the five buildings, damaged or removed landscaping not replaced or replanted, old tree stumps left in place, lighting on property poorly maintained, etc.
Contrary to advertising there are no management sponsored activities and special social events outside of what the residents provided for themselves. The Clubhouse, our social center, is closed every evening at 6 p.m. and all weekend leaving us no place to congregate, socialize, have games, events, internet access, etc. Corporate Management has stated in letter form that they feel we can utilize the outside pool deck for such functions regardless of the season or weather conditions. They feel that is a safe alternative and more then adequate for unsteady, weather sensitive seniors in electric wheelchairs or utilizing walkers, crutches, canes, etc.
Cable is $48 a month extra payable to Nantucket Bay in addition to the Brighthouse Networks monthly fees and there's a $40 fee each month if you want a washer and dryer. Both require a years long contract.
Management has a continuous history of being rude and offensive to its senior community and reluctant to respond to maintenance issues.
- Pros: Good location, nice setting, easy access to everything.
- Cons: Poorly maintained, mamangement unresponsive to seniors needs.
