A nice experience....not your usual dinner out at a restaurant...more Unique and intimate.. I agree....this is a great date spot ...for new couples or old...or even a great group of girlfriends. Your host appears to be very knowledgeable about the wines he was serving the evening we were there. The pours are plentiful and they even offer you more. I definately like the 4 course meal. The setting is small, quaint and intimate. I like the small dinner group,(I think there were 7 or 8 tables total) the interaction amongst the guests and the experience as a whole. The food was okay....I think with some minor "touches" it can be a whole lot more...but, overall very reasonable for the price it costs. I would recommend for anyone who hasn't tried it. It was certainly a pleasant experience.
Should be called Charlie's Wine Attic. The first floor is a retail store lined with wine racks, but turn the corner and head up the stairs to a small, yet warm and inviting space. Just a few tables and chairs fit in this tiny loft-style bar. Dark wood and candlelight create a romantic mood that only get better with the huge pours provided by the bartender. Knowledgable and talkative, he or she is the perfect balance of attentive and invisible that the small space neccesitates. Charlie's is the perfect after dinner date spot.

The Scene
Tucked above the wine cellar, this elegant bar seats only 40, so make reservations. Climb the narrow staircase to discover a dark-wood bar, dimly lit tables and join upscale South Tampa twosomes for a night of live jazz and more than 60 wines from around the world, sold by the glass, half-bottle and bottle. Leave relaxed--and maybe with a bottle or two.
The Food
Pair wine with delectable hors d'oeuvres, including more than 28 gourmet cheeses, inventive pâtés and imported chocolates. Bring out the smoky richness of a Kenwood Russian River pinot noir with creamy Camembert, or sip cabernet sauvignon with Spain's full-flavored manchego. Pâtés are served with Paris toast, a crispy complement that doesn't take away from flavorful black-truffle mousse with pork, chicken, onions, cognac and sherry, or Cajun-spiced shrimp mousse covered with a savory blend of garden-fresh vegetables. French milk chocolate twigs with caramel are an elegant finish.
