Quality Plus Cleaners

My Experience with Quality Plus Cleaners. At first, I loved the place. The young lady who worked there was conscientious, she welcomed me to Tampa (I was new in town), squared me away with a couple of coupons. She once even called me on a Saturday to remind me that they close early because in passing conversation I'd mentioned that I needed the clothes quickly for an upcoming business trip.

She doesn't work there anymore. The following episodes have occurred within the past six months.

First, I received an order that was half mine, half someone else's. It made for an unnecessarily interesting conversation with my wife, who's natural curiousity was aroused when she saw the dry cleaning hanging in the closet with women's clothes that she didn't recognize. Oh well ... mistakes happen. I took the clothes back and reported the error, and they gave me the other half of my order.

Then, I began receiving my dress shirts back with damage -- broken buttons, etc. All fixable stuff. I pointed it out, and they fixed it next time. Then, I received a dress shirt back that had been torn in the cleaning process. I returned the shirt to the cleaners, and the business showed absolutely no accountability. After some discussion, they agreed that they would leave a note in the system that the manager would see, and that the manager would call me on the following Monday. Monday came and went with no call from the Manager. At the end of the work week, I inquired about the shirt and the call from the manager. There was no note in the system. The business suggested that they resolve the dispute by ... you guessed it ... leaving a note in the system for the manager. Another no-call from manager. A week passes and nothing. After the 3rd week, the business agrees to pay me less than $5 for the dress shirt. So now, I need another dress shirt, but hey, at least they'll spot me five bucks to get me started, right? I decide to change cleaners.

I move to a new cleaners, and they do a good job, but they're farther away from the house and it's not as convenient. So, I decide to give Quality Plus another chance.

All's well for two weeks, maybe three. Silly me. Right before Christmas, I drop off the express bag. I go on vacation. I return. I pick up my dry cleaning. I have a nice pair of suit pants. Less than a year old. I am missing the jacket. Which pretty much means I now need a new suit. I inquire at the cleaners, and they naturally say that they never had the suit. And, because I used the express bag, we didn't do a joint inventory. So now, I'm out a suit.

I'm completely done with this business. I will never darken their doorstep again with my shadow. I work for the school district, so I don't make a ton of money, though I do have to wear a suit to work. Now, I have to find the money for a new suit. Thanks for nothing, Quality Plus.

In closing, I offer as my firm opinion that anyone who patronizes this business -- Quality Plus -- is risking their wardrobe and their wallet. They displayed a complete lack of professionalism and accountability, and from what I gather from my interactions with them recently, they really don't need any extra customers anyway. This is obvious, because they treat their customers like the customers are disposable. I switched to Bayside Cleaners on Memorial and so far, they've not only done a much better job than Quality Plus, I their prices might actually be a little better.
