Great Rolls, Best of the Beaches. Sushi is a tough cuisine for any restaurant to get perfect for me. Sometimes I want classic Japanese feel, sometimes a party atmosphere is the way to go. Sometimes its all about the fish, so the sashimi better be stellar. Other times rolls and creativity are more important. So I guess it really depends on my mood. Do I want Nobu from NYC or Rock-n-Sake form NOLA?

So where does Osaka fall on my sushi barometer?

Sashimi: Fair

Rolls: Excellent

Creativity: Good

Quiet or Party? Party

Group or Date? Group

Recommendations: Fat B@stard, Sexy Man / Woman, Tuna Tornado, Volcano, Popeye Salad, Poki Salad.

Comments: Although the atmosphere changed after Loto died a few years ago, the sushi is still great especially the long list of rolls. I recommend bringing 4 - 6 of your closest serious sushi-head friends, getting a traditional table, bottles of hot and cold sake + Asahi beers and start picking rolls. You will not be disappointed. Big call out to Suzy, who is a sushi chef superstar. Enjoy!!!

Best Sushi At The Beach. Granted, the location looks like a hole in the wall, but don't let that fool you! The decor in Osaka Japanese & Thai Restaurant is very quaint on the inside, and is the venue for THE BEST sushi you will ever eat.

Date Tip: If you're dating someone who loves sushi, bring them here for good Asian food, and then enjoy walking on Madeira Beach that is just across the street. :)

Great sushi! Best I ever had!. The best sushi is the Sexy Man...made with fresh tuna and fish eggs with their special sauce. The other one is the Sexy Woman ....made with shrimp tempura and fish eggs with their special sauce. I have never been anywhere where they have this sauce!

Best Sushi anywhere, opens at 5pm, great customer service, friendly and helpful, very clean, fresh seafood. I am a sushi lover but have never found a place that was CHEAP and GOOD at the same time. This place if off the charts good. You are immediately greeted with smiling faces and seated. They are willing to help you with anything you may need and you are able to change what you want in your Sushi to accomodate to your likings. My favorite Sushi is "The Mexican" it contains fried shrimp, avocado, mayo and roe (tiny orange fish eggs very very tiny). You receive 8 rolls for $4.95. IT TRULY IS THE CHEAPEST AND OVERALL BEST PLACE I HAVE EVER BEEN TOO IN MY LIFE. I have made many people hooked on this place. They will remember your face too. Anyway I hope that people read this and go. You won't be unsatisfied.

Outstanding. By Far, the freshedt Sushi in the Bay Area! So fresh, The Chef was slicing the fish behind the bar. Service was quick and effecient. Sushi was tasty and delictible.
