Good doctors but disorganized
by Rodney Anonymous at Citysearch
I have been a patient at Great Expressions for over 5 years. Their doctors do a good job and are knowledgeable and informative.
I would agree with "One girls opinion" above, and add:
The issue is getting to see them. Every time I have gone to this office with a scheduled appointment, I still have waited in the waiting room for at least 30 minutes. Then when you are finally ushered in for treatment, you typically wait an additional 15 minutes before the hygenists/assistants/doctors actually see you. Then they start treatment and move on to other patients. One time I waited over an hour in the waiting room and left. A typical appointment: scheduled at 9:00 for a simple cleaning, one waits in the waiting room until 9:35, then is seated in a chair while the hygenist says "be right back" and leaves you until 9:50. You finally exit the office at 10:30. That is ridiculously long for an appointment which should take 20-30 minutes and have you out and on the way to the rest of your day by 9:30.
A Dental Clinic in a nice location
by One girls opinion at Citysearch
This place is nothing more than a clinic in a nice building. It is in Carillon, so one would expect a nice dental office. Don't count on it unless you like a clinic environment. That means one big room with only a half-wall separating you from the other patients. Listening to the sound of people getting their teeth cleaned or people getting their teeth drilled 5 feet from you is terrible! It's bad enough when you are in a room at a normal dental office and hear the muffled sound of the drill. But when it is close enough to touch, it is gross.
I don't know how they pass HIPPA laws for patient privacy, because there sure isn't any privacy in this place. I heard EVERYTHING the dentist said the the man next to me, and frankly, I didn't want to hear any of it! I was so appalled that I left, and I commented to the lack of privacy to the front desk manager. She said since I didn't know the person it was ok for them to speak openly. I don't think so...plus, they have no idea who I know, and I am not into other people--strangers even--hearing what the dentist says to me.
If you like a big room so you can share the dental experience with other folks, then by all means go here. But if you like a professional set-up, go elsewhere.
Oh, and the magazines in the waiting room were from 1998 and 2002 and 2003!!! And when I mentioned this to them they said they knew. They just don't care.
I would NEVER go to a place like this, and am surprised that other people do.
- Pros: location,
- Cons: set up, lack of privacy,
