The Scene – This little bar and restaurant is located on the far east end of downtown Dunedin. Outside, it has a patio that looks somewhat worse for the wear. Inside, it's a black hole with a jukebox, but hey, it's real. – – The Goods – You can order food until 7pm each night, and the menu offers appetizers like smoked fish spread, fried catfish, drunken dogs--steamed in beer, sandwiches and pizza. The waitress said the best dish in the house is the burgers, fat, thick, high-cholesterol, but by the time you get it, you don't care.
Green plate special!!!

You eat in Skips because you are enjoying yourself too much to go somewhere else. It's a great crowd and it's easy to say "Give me a burger, Karen". Another favorite is the Shepherds Pie served on the cool green plates left over from the previous owner. Occasional treats include the chicken legs and rice, but the pizza is of the frozen "Sam's Club" variety and a firm indication that you can't believe everything your waitress says.
All in all an enjoyable experience with very few drawbacks. If the owner isn't watching you might even get a smiley face drawn on your napkin! Mike
- Pros: inexpensive, ambience, jukebox
- Cons: napkins, jukebox assistance, personalized service
