Years of Delicious & Clean Dining. For over 10 years we have dined at this wonderful restaurant along the Pinellas Trail. There is always a varied selection of entrees & specials. I like the Walnut Chicken Salad & my husband enjoys the Fish & Chips. The pasta dishes are very good. Excellent service & clean restaurant.
CAFE ALRESCO...YES!!!!. I live on the West Coast (S.F.area) and have just purchased a condo on the causeway. I hadn't seen Main Street on my first trip to buy and was in heaven when I did. Cafe Alfresco is wonderful. I had the seafood (crab, shrimp, cheese) which came with thinly sliced fried potatoes (Ask for them crispy!) and my friend had some type of eggs Benedict which was fantastic too! I can hardly wait to move in Sept. 2008 and visit Cafe Alfresco again! I know this is going to be one of my regulars! The service was good, and the outside glassed-in room was a pleasure in which to eat! Haven't tried the desserts yet, but they look much better than the average pastry...they have the appearance of what you'd buy in a Patisserie! Go there and enjoy it!
A good, all-round restaurant..
The Scene
The cafe is located just adjacent to the Pinellas Trail, and some of its patrons ride or bike to Dunedin and stop for refreshment at the Cafe Alfresco. Inside, it's a pretty interior, its focal point a big cabinet of homemade desserts displayed wickedly. A big, screened patio lets in a lot of light and provides a pleasant atmosphere with dappled shade from a big oak outside.
The Food
On the menu are such items as Eggplant Parmesan, Chicken Marsala, lamb chops, grouper New Orleans and grilled salmon salad. Desserts are extensive and include such items as cheesecakes or an obscenely decadent ice cream dish featuring bananas, chocolate sauce, whipped cream, toasted almonds and butterscotch.
A Hint
The restaurant does an extensive brunch each weekend, including such items as smoked salmon bagels; omelets, fritttatas, and various forms of eggs Benedict.
