Sadly Nielsen left Dunedin, So I do not get to eat there as much as I once did, However the food is good enough that we still make the trip back to Dunedin to eat some Umbertos. Yum Yum!
Love the place and the food is good....however lately I have been switching over to "Julians little Italy" who serve similar food (Umberto's used to be the only "real" Italian in town for a long time), but has a bit more (physical) space in their location. Umbertos is very small and makes me feel a bit uncomfortable.
Good Pizza but terribly rude.
To be fair, the Pizza here was good and the waitress gave us good service. BUT I WILL NEVER EVER RETURN TO UMBERTO'S. The cashier (who i suspect was also the owner)was extremely rude. When asked if he could split the bill, he became angry and insisted that he would have to charge extra to do so. After agreeing to his minimal surcharge for splitting the bill, he then goes on to say in a very frustrated and rude tone that this would be the last time he would ever do this for us (like he was doing me a favor when I spend my money at his restaurant!!!). Also, did I mention he gave us an eye-roll and a huffing sound with his comments? He really reminded me of the soup-nazi. Anyway, I calmly reassured him that this would not happen again as this would be the last time my friends or I would be visiting his restaurant. He said that was fine with him.
There are other good Pizza places in town. There is nothing extraordinary about Umberto's. In fact I have had at least as good or even better pizza at Bros Pizzeria in Clearwater. Umberto's has definitely lost me as a customer and I will definitely not recommend it to anyone because of the very rude behavior from the cashier (who I suspect is the owner himself).
Umberto's.
We LOVE Umberto's of Long Island. It should be called Umberto's of "Dunedin". The Pizza is by far the
BEST Ever. The Pizza is delicious with a thin crust and sauce that will make your mouth water. If you want
extra cheese or any other ingredient they are very generous. Staff is A++. Love it - will always order from
here or dine there because we know we won't be disappointed. We vote Umberto's as Best Pizza
ALWAYS!!
Awesome local pizza / italian restaurant. The pizza looks and smells amazing, but it's hard to pass up their Italian dishes... I've been there half a dozen times, and have never been disappointed. Reasonable prices too. Growing up in NYC, the first thing I look for when I move somewhere is the good bagels and pizza. Umberto's, Marios (19 & 60), and Little Italy (19, North of Tampa Rd) are the best Italian places in town. I am still looking for a decent Bagel...
NY pizziera in Dunedin, FL. I have been going to Umberto's for over 20 years. They by far have the best pizza in this area. Not to mention a very extensive Italian menu.
A taste of NYC Pizza in Dunedin. Umberto's has been in the same location for over 25 years and the food, service and people are outstanding. Great NY style pizza and awesome Italian food - super value for the money.
