Editorial Review for Safety Harbor Resort & Spa – by Mary Lou Janson
The Scene
Dunk yourself into mineral water-filled pools, drink from the daily carafe delivered to your room or dive into the spa's other age-defying options. A full range of workout programs helps clients redefine and redesign their physiques and an organic array of spa treatments attacks wrinkles, splotches and blotches.
The Details
Low-key with a touch of luxury, appropriate attire ranges from the thoughtfully provided bathrobes to personal sportswear and swimwear. Between bouts of Boxercise, while waiting for that 80-minute sports massage, or after a tennis match or golf lesson, take a hike around Safety Harbor to quaint Phillipe Park.

Following my best friends wedding my boyfriend, most of the wedding party and I stayed at the Safety Harbor Resort. The room was spacious and lovely, very romantic. The bed was ohhhhh soooo comfortable with down pillows and comfortable. We had a king size suite with lots of little extras, wet bar, designer toiletries, lovely view of the pool with the Marina in the back ground. Even as a local I will be back to stay again if the occasion calls for it.
Pros: down comfortable, view
Cons: different buildings made it harder to find our room

As a frequent spa goer I must say, this spa is supremely below today's spa standards. The best part of this spa is the view outside. The facility is very antiquated and mediocre at best. My massage was performed in a room that was very "sound sensitive" and the feeling of the treatment room was anything but welcoming and relaxing. My male therapist constantly broke contact to relube and moved from one part of my body to another in a very mechanical manner. UGH! My facial was enjoyable as the tech conducted herself like true a professional. I will never return to this spa unless they do a major overhaul. If they want to stay in business they will have to. In St. Petersburg, The Don Cesar is in the construction stage of rebuliding their spa ammenties which are promised to be state of the art luxury. I can't wait! Also, The Vinoy is in their early stages of rebuliding their facility as well.
Pros: beautiful water views
Cons: antiquated spa facility, mechanical massage therapist
