Founded in 1947, the attraction was based around the first underwater theater and its unprecedented underwater mermaid show that would become a breadmaker for years to come. Unforgettable, the mermaid show continues today with lovely and talented mermaids performing original productions all the while breathing through air hoses floating languidly through the water like ambitious sea anemones.

Other Entertainment
While the image of the mermaid show may linger with you the longest, it's the Wilderness River Cruise where Weeki Wachee makes the most of its environment. Blue herons and pelicans float effortlessly alongside the peaceful cruise boat, while otters and raccoons frolic on the shores. Recently, Buccaneer Bay, a seven-acre water park, was added to Weeki's repertoire. Don't forget to stop by the Mermaid Museum to catch photos of the Mermaid Reunion from the 50th anniversary celebration.
