Not even with one star. I ordered scallops and raw oysters and my girlfriend ordered baked stuffed founder. I also got a beer which was served in a plastic cup. That is nice on the back porch or at frat party, but not really what I expected from a restaurant. Once our order was taken, we did not see the waitress for a while. Another table was seated near us after our order was placed. Their food came out before ours...and my oyster order never showed up! When the food did finally reach our table, it was awful. My scallops were bland, the green beans were out of a can, and the coleslaw was mass produced. My girlfriends flounder was covered in cayenne pepper which was almost unpalatable and the "crab stuffing" was Stove Top - we never found any crab. I cannot understand how anyone could possibly consider this seafood restaurant anything better than going to McDonalds for a fish sandwich. There was a kid who came to our table and took our picture. He said it was what they did at the restaurant. Here it was a ploy to push merchandise on us. He wanted us to buy some cheap trinkets with the picture he took of us. To top it all off, the waitress gave me a bill for over $75 dollars. Luckily I checked it and found she gave me the wrong one. The place just sucked.
BEWARE FOOD IS GROSS. The seafood is not fresh, it is garbage. The place smells, the food is gross, expensive, the parking stinks, and the wait staff is as bad as the food. The worst place I have eaten at on the beach.
As a kid I loved this place now I'm older, yuck. As a kid I used to love this place. The only way that they know how to prepare "seafood" is to fry it. Great for when you are a kid - not exactly how I choose to eat my seafood now. As an adult, I've tried this place several times and in several locations and they have no idea how to cook a piece of fish. Problem may be that they aren't trying to cook fresh fish - who knows what they are cooking. The service is HORRIBLE at all of the locations and the picnic bench thing is not fun as the typical clientele leaves little to be desired.
I am always ready to go to Crabby Bill's!. I take my family here about once a month and the seafood is excellent. I love the fried dishes, which tend to be slightly greasy, but the selection and quality of the seafood is great. We always get an appetiser of aligator bites and pas them around. The service varies and you usually sit at picnic tables and the parking is a problem; but the meal is worth all of the minor inconveniences. And the value is great for what you get.
rsj3. Eat downstairs and try the mussels, they're the freshest and tastiest in town, sold as an appetizer, but enough for an entree. Then head upstairs for the coldest, CHEAPEST beers in town, served with a smile.
Fresh fish!!. Crabby Bill's has their own boats, so the fish is fresh. Fried fish w/ fries & cole slaw for $7.99 is too big to eat for most people. Oysters on the half shell for $2.99. I'll take two dozen. You can spend alot of money on the high end stuff. I stick to the under $10.00. Dinner for two...pitcher of beer, 2 dozen oysters, tuna sandwich w/ all sides, fried fish w/ sides..$27.84. I take my guests here and they cannot believe it. Be warned...you will probably seat on benches and talk to other people...have fun!
Wouldn't recommend it. Service and food was lousy- ordered a sandwich and an appitizer. Finally got the appetizer after we were done the sandwich. Appetizer was REALLY salty. Photographer was really insistent on taking everyone's picture. Not many wanted their picture taken!
Not so good. Have been here several times and has less than adequate service and food quality. The seafood seems like it's not fresh and of frozen quality. Rather pricey for the amount and quality.
Very Coast of Maine. The best seafood on the Gulf Coast in this price range!
