Not As Expected!. Another let down! My fiancee and I were the only guests in the entire establishment for 3 full hours! We arrived on time for our reservation and were never asked if we even had one? Our waiter was vacuuming at 5:30 when we had arrived, and seemed bothered that we did! The Chef was very friendly! Our server never changed our overflowing ashtray until asked! He never properly maintained the table and there were 2 servers and 2 clients, us! The wine list was excellent, the food mediocre, and our $42.00 chateaubriand was way overcooked even though we asked for rare to medium rare! The souffle dessert was excellent, but not worth returning for! $302.00 tab, $65.00 tip which was undeserved! We are both fine dining servers and never leave reviews, but this was a special occasion and we were not impressed at all! 4 apps, and 1 entree, and 3 great bottles of wine with mediocre food and unattentive service!
Best Classical French Food in town!. Extremely good classical french food. What you would expect from a 4 or 5 star big city resturant. The decor is average and the service is also average. Upscale casual attire, kids ok. Will definitly return to see what Chef Dominique has to offer next.
I'm looking for THE BEST French food.
Location? Hard to find (even with navigation system)behind, next to.in the 2nd building.....
Food was very good! Service excellent, so far 2nd place in Pinellas.
Excellent food & service.. The food and service was fantastic. If anything the service was too atentive. Despite what this site says, I found it very romantic. Also, the price is a little higher than stated. Dinners were between $24-$29.
Cafe Largo is a gem.
Contrary to what the previous person said, we did dine at Cafe Largo on Valentine's day and it was one of the more memorable meals I have had. They offered (I believe) a five course meal, which was wonderful. Well worth the price.
We are locals, and find this is a great place to get a France fix.
Robbed. I went here for valentines. They had a fixed menu, so we could not order a la carte. The service was below average the ambiance was non existent. Over the years we have eatten in many out of the way locations and had a nice meal and good service at an excellent value. The food was good, the dessert was bad. At $180 for both us cafe largo did not deliver.
Excellent eatery feels like it should occupy a verdant rural cottage in France..
In Short
The cuisine here is simply magnifique. A standout is the perfect French-style stew called boeuf Bourguignon, heavy in a rich wine sauce. The triumph of the menu is the plate of lamb chops seasoned with herbs and cooked rare. Venture toward dessert, and you'll encounter an irresistible chocolate mousse, with bits of real chocolate fortifying the filling, perched among little topknots of fresh whipped cream.
