The Scene – It would be a challenge to find a more beautiful setting than Clearwater Beach at dusk. Broad, sugar-sand beach; sea oats flapping in the breeze; beachgoers playing volleyball and relaxing in the water. At dinnertime, meander right up to Frenchy's in your bathing suit, goofy sun hat and flip-flops and plop down at a table. You'll find a friendly waitstaff, very good food and excellent drinks. – – The Food – Order the Caribbean jerk grouper sandwich, spiced Jamaican-style; it arrives with crispy chips and a big, cold drink with lots of ice; purists…
My Favorite Seafood Restaurant
by cindyhanchett
This has always been my favorite Seafood Restaurant. They started with just one location, then as their popularity grew, they expanded adding more locations. I just wish they would add a Tampa restaurant as I can not always get to Clearwater Beach.
The dress and atmosphere are casual. The waterfront location is a larger and dressier location.
Be prepared to wait as it is a favorite for locals, sailors & tourist. The wait is worth it as the food is always great. Every time we take friends it becomes one of their favorites as well! They have offerings for non seafood lovers as well.
The smoked fish spread & grouper sandwich are the best around. I do not believe they take reservations. The price is reasonable. They provide great customer service. You can find pictures of local sailors on the walls.
It is family friendly, can be a little loud, but loads of fun! Try to avoid during tourist season. Relax & have a cocktail while you wait for your table. Remember when at the beach, you can't be in a hurry!
Frenchys with the african-american male door guy, who has teethe so yellow, when he shows them, they slow traffic
by eccentriclucifer
I am not a local of Clearwater Beach. I was invited with a couple of my friends, and we went to this establishment, Frenchys east sideI was expecting to have a good time, but the balding male, caucasion, bartender who was working at the Rockaway bar, on the date of 9 June 2007, at the hours between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. did not stir my chilled shot of Grand Marnier, as i asked, but shook it! Not two seconds after i told to stir it. This might sound superficial to complain about, although, ice remnants in a shot is like waking up one time after sleeping, and realizing you are losing hair from the top, middle section of your cranium. I complained, and this african american male, who is so dark, he is purple, grabbed me like i was a slavemaster of past of his, and got what was owed to him. I understand being thrown out, although, i am disabled. Walking is a chore for me now. I have a rod in my femur, and walking is a task now. Point of this is, the bar staff likes small tips, obviously. I showed this male bartender working on the day of 9Jun2007, $1000 cash, and he still shook my Grand Marnier shot, rather than stir it. I am back on my cane to aid my walk again. I just retired it last month. I despise the establishment just for the what happened to my person that day. I hope Mr. French, or whomever has the pleasure of calling that place a "business establishment"" prospers. A good piece of advice to give you, yellow teethe showing, brings a lot traffic slowing to slow down because of the yellow. African-Americans here in the United Sates, are owed something to them. So they send whitey to, collect? I guess I should say. Whitey has more luck collecting than performing
And remember the golden rule, one who jacks, has calloused hands. Anyway, call when you can. And ill talk to you later.
She Crab Soup to die for!

My husband and I have been spending the winters in Florida for several years. We love all of the Frenchy's restaurants but Rockaway's is our very favorite. The waiters and waitresses are number 1-very helpful and very friendly and the rum runners are the best in Florida-we visit this restaurant on a weekly basis and would recommend it highly to anyone-can't wait to get there!
