It's changed...stay away

I went there with my family for dinner. We have a 2nd home in the area. The bar area contains a lot of leathered locals who no one would want to be near. I have eaten here in the past and enjoyed it but the crowd has changed and has become uncomfortable. If you're looking to hang out with a bunch of bar hags...go for it otherwise, move down the beach or over to the mainland to get away from the rough local crowd.
- Pros: Food used to be good
- Cons: Horrible atmosphere
OldSchool

This restaurant has live piano music, a relish tray with crackers, muffins between courses-we thought it was a little stuffy at first, but we loved the food. It's definately an old school type place, price is moderate and the food is really good, catering to an older set who dress for dinner.Overall we were impressed.
Best Restaurant in Clearwater Beach

I've eaten at the Beachcomber 6 times in past 4 months after moving to Clearwater Beach a few years ago. Assumed it would be too expensive by the looks of it on the outside. It is a high dollar, but it's become a necessary luxury that we know will be just what we wanted. Each time I've ordered a different item because it's no risk so far - every single dish is great! Haven't tried any of the desserts yet. But love the fried eggplant, the bread, the filet mignon, the hot brown, the fried shrimp, the bousin cheeseburger. It's divine! Every time. But I also like the ambience- very cool and serene but romantic. A haven from the heat & touristas traffic. In my experience, you can't go wrong with the Beachcomber. Yum!
- Pros: Ambience and Food
- Cons: Expensive
