Shephard's Waterfront Rstrnt

Horrible Experience. My wife and I met some friends at Shephard's, and this was our first time there. We were first greeted by the valet parking, and we were informed that all parking was valet-only, and the charge was $10. So you have to pay $10 in parking just to visit this establishment. Sorry, but you guys aren't "all that", for many reasons that I will get to shortly.

My wife and I ordered the "24 ounces" of beer, and the beer was brought out in a cup about the size of what I get where I get a draft beer at other places. As an experienced beer drinker, I'd say it was more than 12 oz., but NO WAY could you fit anywhere near 24 oz. in one of those cups. RIP OFF.

Next, my friend ordered a grouper sandwich that was pretty much burnt to a crisp. Um, hello - it's not hard to pull the fish out of the grease before it turns dark brown. I ended up not ordering any food.

The waitress was not very attentive after we had placed our initial orders.. It would seriously be probably at least 30-45 minutes before she would ever come back to see if you needed anything else, like another beer.

I suppose this is the "night club" style, but basically my friends and I were blown away by music turned up to the max where it was darn near impossible to hold a conversation, which I find to be pretty annoying. I had to spend the whole night shouting over the music and my throat was raw by the time we left.

To top the night off, we were about to leave, and a couple of my friends went to use the john, but they didn't come back for quite a while, and my friend's wife started freaking out wondering where they were. This is partially my fault, but I had taken off my wrist band because we were about to leave, but soon enough, the little weener bouncer with a complex spotted me and told us we would have to leave or get a new wristband. I told him we were just trying to track down our friend's husband so we would leave. We sat down briefly at an unoccupied table to try and call her husband's cell, and noticed the bouncer hovering over us. He said "I thought you were leaving." Again, told him we were just trying to locate our friend's husband. I showed him my id and he told me that my id "doesn't mean anything."and that I HAD to have a wristband, or leave. At that point, I was extremely ticked, because not like we were even drinking anything, and this bozo was clearly aware that all we were trying to do was round up our friends so we could leave. But the bouncer obviously had an attitude. It was my pleasure to leave as soon as we could round everyone up, but we weren't about to leave our friend there by herself not knowing what happened to her husband. So I guess keep your wristband on until you are out of the place or the bouncers will give you crap and be d!ck$ about it.

Anyway, her husband and other friend did show up a short time later, and we left.

Even if Shephard's was my type of place, it was still a miserable overall experience. We weren't treated at all the way customers ought to be treated. The only saving grace for the night was the company of my friends, but no thanks to Shephard's. I won't be coming back.…

saddened. This used to be my favorite place to go while vacationing in FL. However the past few years I have been there have been completely disappointing! The last time we were there the waiter charged us for iced tea refills! Also, charged the children adult menu buffet prices. You really have to check your bill carefully! The food was O.K., nothing like it used to be. Another restaraunt where the prices went up and the service and food went down :) sorry…
