Russian Gypsy Soul CD review by Debra Jan Bibel.
ARC has some winners. Albeit, Sufi Songs from India and Pakistan is a small niche, but this traditional album from Shafqat Ali Kahn is so much superior to his modern excursions in fusion. It is a poweful album that the bland New Age crowd should hear.
The true winner is Russian Gypsy Soul that deserves wide attention. These guys are extraordinary musicians and their music, which goes beyond "romantic gypsy" should have broad interest. Hope the CD grabs the spotlight. It is something special and more entertaining (nightclub style) than most in the ARC catalogue.
