The new owners have really made this place beautiful. the sandwiches are made with such quality and the meat on them is thinly sliced so it's just easy to eat. I highly recommend this place to anyone and if you dont believe me then please go have a sandwich and prove me wrong haha hopefully this was helpful.
Change is not a good thing here!. We moved from St. Pete seven years ago and I've yearned for another trip to CBC ever since. Be careful what you wish for because things usually aren't as they once were! The moment we walked in the door I had a bad feeling about it, but decided that it was just me being picky. The odor from bad cooking oil hit you as soon as you walked in and apparently their exhaust fan wasn't in good working order. I abhor restaurants where you walk around for the rest of the day wearing their smells. We were seated promptly and our order was taken and delivered timely. The sandwich was skimpy compared to what we remembered and the potato salad appeared to be leftover as it had a greasy appearance. It's really a shame that such a good memory had to be ruined.
I am very sorry to hear you had this experience at the deli. I can reassure you that being the new owners i have corrected all the previous owners mistakes. I invite you to come back in and try one of the sandwiches that i make now because hers were skimpy compared to the new ones. If the new look and cooking changes your mind please just ask for Tony (owner) and just let him know that you like what he has done with the deli. Thank you and again i apologize even though i was not in control of the deli back then. I just dont like to see a customer lost due to the old owners mistake.
Restaurant Has Changed. A couple of years ago this restaurant was phenomenal, until the owner sold it. Their sandwiches were once wonderful, their soups were homemade, and they had service with a smile. I used to go on Tuesdays for the Matzo ball soup. My latest venture to this "so-called" deli will definitely be my last visit. The service was less than average. The food was totally different to the meal I last had. The sandwich was not worth the price I paid for it, horrible bread and it looked like they cut down on the amount of meat they put on the sandwich. I don't see this restaurant staying around very long. Bring back the old owner and friendly staff. I miss your soups and sandwiches!

Are You Kidding?.
When I saw the article on the window about "Best in St Pete" I was pleased with our impromptu stop for lunch. After eating our meal---or just looking at it made me wonder who was in the running for this award. Yes, I was seated promptly. In fact, I was ordered to sit down. When I took exception to this, the attitude changed to overkill. I love delis but wouldn't classify the food here as deli--more like grandma slapped a little sandwich together.
Pastrami Sandwich-I'll start with a positive; the bread was fresh. Now, yes the bread was fresh but strangely thick especially when there was far less meat than at a real deli. It was more like a bread sandwich. I did order Swiss on this sandwich but it was MIA.
Greek Salad-'ve had too many Greeks salads in Tarpon to let this pass as a Greek. It wasn't even a good tossed salad. How weird, broccoli and carrots in Greek salad? And no anchovies? The potato salad on the Greek was hardly edible.
Great and huge salads. Really good salads here. The house dressing is tasty and all of the veggies are always fresh. They make good soups as well, but they always run out. Gotta get there early if you want the soup.
