Great food and atmosphere. Cafe Croissant is an exceptional eatery with authentic french food. As soon as you enter the wonderful smells let you know that you are in a great restaurant!!

A touch of France in a great Tampa restaurant.. The Scene
You may have to search for it, but Cafe Croissant is certainly worth any effort it takes to get there. Its fine selections of pastries and fresh baked breads, along with light meals served at its simple storefront restaurant are substantial, well-done and really, really French.

It is a little gem of a French bakery hidden improbably behind a monstrous Wal-Mart in an obscure corner of Pinellas County's Lighthouse Crossing Shopping Center.

The Eats
The restaurant's bakery counter is loaded with breads and pastries. You sit at one of the eight, tiny cafe-style tables, simple formica affairs neatly set next to the big window in front. While you order, you get a whiff of baguettes in the ovens. There are so many elegant desserts, it is hard to choose one or two. French music blares from the radio, and as you eat, you can hear the melodious voices of the bakers yakking in French as they work.

What to Order
For breakfast, order coffee and try the elegant croissants, including plain, almond, cinnamon, chocolate, cordon bleu, spinach, raspberry and jelly-filled. At lunch, order bouchee a la reine (translation: queen's mouthful), pastry filled with bits of chicken and mushrooms in a cream sauce. For dinner, take home soup. We're so fortunate to be able to enjoy a taste of Paris right here at home.
